We had one of the attic rooms at the 7th floor with a queen and sofa bed. It was more a mini apartment than a standard hotel room. Good and modern bathroom. A very nice place. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our short stay here.

We stayed for 4 days in Rekord Hotel, we had a family room since we were 2 adults and 2 children. The positive points are friendly staff and near metro station. However the room was very old and not that clean. The wall papers on the wall had stains and some were detached. The cover of my pillow had stains on it. The bathroom had mold and the ventilation shaft full of dust. Overall its not a 4 star hotel as they claimed and i would not stay there again nor recomended it to any friends.

I would not stay at hotel rekord again because food was not good in the hotel and bathroom did have lock but not working and I asked and They was meant to send someone up next day but they never. The hotel Staff were really friendly so I’ll give 10 out 10 for staff that it. We had a penthouse It was good but They didn’t have English channels like most countries do now put English Channel on them.

I would strongly discourage any tourist from staying here especially if you are trying to see the city on a short schedule. This hotel is so far away from a Barcelona BusTuristic bus stop (the recommended travel option for foreign tourist), and it is not convenient. You will be walking for 2 miles before even getting on the bus. Also, the hotel staff tell you about a close by metro station (Mutaner), but it is so small that it is impossible to get any help at the station to go anywhere. You can take a taxi, but it will quickly add up. Also, this area quiets down around 8 pm, so finding a place to eat dinner will require a trip to the city.
Also, larger parties should be aware that 2 people will have to sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed. This is not a pleasant experience when you are already so tired from all the walking you have to do during the day. The rooms are clean but they are not 4 star quality. The shower is a handheld and the shower does not have a complete door. During our stay, the toilet had a mind of its own, and worked sporadically. Also, when we were checking in the hotel they did not tell us about a Barcelona city tourist tax, instead they said that everything was paid for as stated on our booking receipt. Please beware of any additional “taxes” that show up as a surprise when you check out.

We regret that you do not carry a better memory of your experience in our hotel. Hotel Rekord is located two minutes from a subway station that takes you to downtown in 7 minutes (there are only 3 stops distance) and in a street full of restaurants and businesses. Spain dinner time starts at 20:00 in mostly of the restaurants. In our reception we would be happy to recommend a nearby restaurant if you had asked.
About the problem in the bathroom, we would have liked to know it during your stay because surely the technical service could have solved it on the fly. On a next occasion, do not hesitate to let us know. The tourist tax has been in force since 2012. This information can be found on the page that you made your reservation. The hotel does not have any intention to make additional taxes to our clients. We hope that in the future you decide to stay with us again and we will be so happy to welcome you.

The people are super friendly, the location is ok, just next to the underground station, the rooms are ok with wooden floors and a Nespresso machine. The breakfast is nice with fresh orange juice, albeit the fruit selection is limited.
