4 star transit hotel

its about 20 mins north of the city centre. you can get a 67 bus into the city centre for €2.55 just tap your visa card as you get on, the bus stop is on diagonal 200 metres away and gets you there in 25mins.
the hotel is certainly not 5 star as claimed but a decent 4 star. no pool but a modest spa. its a bit noisy as double glazing overlooking road is only 12mm so maybe bring some ear plugs.
theres nothing touristy to walk to in this area but they do good business with coach tours etc. breakfast is unremarkable but ok. our room was fine, ticked the boxes. its centrally controlled aircon, no opening windows but worked ok.
they provide you with a couple of little cans of water on your first night only but there is a small supermarket in the building opposite where you can buy 5l containers. i was surprised by their water policy to be honest.
shout out to javier on reception for enthusiastic help on where to go in barcelona, without him we would have struggled
the in house italian restaurant appears to be semi independent and was first class service food and price
bottom line its a transit hotel not a destination hotel

We're thrilled to hear that you had a pleasant overall experience with us and our in-house Italian restaurant, offering authentic gastronomic experiences, met your expectations with exceptional service, food, and value.

It's also wonderful to know that Javier at reception provided you with enthusiastic and helpful insights for your Barcelona adventures.

We, however, regret to hear that aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations.
While our central air conditioning system is designed to ensure guest comfort, we apologize if this caused any inconvenience.
Additionally, we offer a serene experience at our YHI SPA, which includes a heated indoor swimming pool, contrary to the impression that there's no pool.
Finally, we are located in the vibrant business area, close to Camp Nou, and our proximity to public transport facilitates exploration of Barcelona's rich offerings.

We highly recommend this hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful but special praise should be given to Victor. This gentleman is a fine ambassador for this hotel and indeed the Melia hotel group. He was courteous, professional and most welcoming when we first arrived. This is a 5 star hotel and we thought the rating was well deserved. The decor and ambience of the hotel is excellent. The room itself was tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom features a shower with multi nozzles. There was also a bath. Perfect for relaxing after a day visiting wonderful sights of Barcelona. I should mention there was a problem with the air conditioning in the but the engineer arrived promptly and it was fixed. There is a bar and Italian restaurant within the hotel. We just had a few drinks and were given complimentary nuts. I observed that the restaurant has an authentic pizza oven and a fellow guest was served what looked like a super pizza. The Metro is more than 15 minutes walk away but there is a good bus service too. The breakfast buffet was superb : Spanish cheeses, honey from a simulated hive, Spanish sausage, salamis, ham, breads and the chef was there to provide a bespoke omelette. We noticed quite a few business people in the hotel and an airline pilot from what might have been a Chinese airline with his crew. He had a massive appetite ! His portion at breakfast was much larger than mine. I much also mention the cheesecake in the breakfast buffet. Delicious ! My wife and I agreed that this hotel was truly excellent and we really enjoyed our stay in Barcelona.

Stuff was friendly and helpful

Room was clean and nicely decorated

Breakfast buffet was super with many different choices. Everything was inviting and clean and Laura was smiling and welcoming

Hotel is nicely decorated
I liked the bags inside the entry revolving door

Had the most horrible experience with nacho at the front desk. Refused blankly to send My food up to my room with the greatest arrogance . Will never stay here again. They give 1 can of water per day for 3 people staying in a family room. The staff think that they are doing you a favour.

We have built this company through and based on our guests´ feedbacks and the experiences they have enjoyed in our hotels. With all our due respect, I would like you understand that Ignacio used his best manners to inform you that Food requested from outside, the guest should come down to pick it up following safety procedures.

Great hotel as you would expect from Melia. It is a little older than some so the room was a little less than we are used to but it was comfortable and had everything needed. We had a treatment in the spa which was lovely. Spa circuit was quite old and underwhelming, plus my husband slipped and hurt his arm and back entering the thermal pool as the aluminium is quite slippery and there are no warning signs. Location was ok for what we needed

Very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly. Wonderful people. My daughter's Airpods went missing but the hotel worked with us until we found a resolution. Once the hotel found the airpods, the staff mailed them back to us very quickly. It was exceptional service.

Room tip: Organized a taxi for us at 3am for 5 people to make it to the airport for our flight.
