We pre booked our family room before our drive, after 2 days of house moving and cleaning on our way to the Goldie. We were very tired and where happy to find a warm welcome at reception. Clean and comfortable beds, our room was spacious and very clean. Our shower had great water pressure and was clean and well stocked. After great nights sleep, we had the continental breakfast generous juice glasses for ice cold beverages, large bowls for man sized cereals and decent size coffee cups to load up our caffeine stores. A varied range of breads, spreads and condiments. The thick sliced bread was matched to the warm and generous ambience of the property and the staff. We recommend central park as nice peaceful place to rest.

This motel feels a bit industrial and isn't luxurious, but it is a great stopover. The room was immaculate, and the property is clearly well cared for. The owners were very sweet and thoughtful, greeting us with juice and giving us candies as we departed. We really loved our stay here.

With a view over the park and not far from the CBD, the motel was quiet, spacious and comfortable. We booked a family room for the night and were looking forward to the restaurant meal, however as it was closed, ordered room service and it was brilliant. The meals were superb! The service was friendly, professional and spot on! Will definitely stay here again.

Lovely room, big, also large shower. Arrived late at night and no problem with that, and left early in the morning so no real chance to explore their facilities. I accidentally left something in the room. They were so nice about it and insisted on posting it to me at no charge - hard to beat that customer service!

This motel is excellent. Large room. Very clean. Beds comfy. There was a sink and microwave, plates cutlery etc. Large bathroom. Everything one could want. Very impressed with this place. Good value for money. Would stay here again if I went south again.

Welcoming, clean, comfy and convenient. We wanted to stay overnight on our way north and this motel was a great choice.

This is an older hotel with very dated bathrooms (80s tiling), however impeccably clean and everything worked. Bed comfortable, huge shower. We had room service for dinner, very tasty. Only issue was door not completely sealed as insects got in and I was covered in bites in the morning.

We stayed at this property on 2 occasions in August 2011. Two units were booked on each occasion. Both times requested ground floor units. Twice, this property failed to provide both units on the ground floor.
Both stays, there was no handbasin plugs in the bathroom and on the second occasion no TV remote in the room
Mangement's response to these complaints were totally inadequate and took considerable discussion to achieve a result on the basin plugs and a "dont believe" you response on the TV remote

We stayed in this motel for one night. It was literally a rest stop and it was exactly what we needed after a long drive. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool area was nice although we didn’t have time to use the facilities. I would recommend this motel

Nice quiet overnight stop whilst driving new car from Brisbane to Cairns. Arrived tired & hungry so settled for their restaurant, what a mistake! The menu contained only expensive main courses so tried the 'Chefs Special' of Crispy Barramundi (still $30). There was only one other couple in the restaurant but the meal still took about 45 mins and when it arrived it was terrible. Clearly a frozen piece of fish defrosted, skin was NOT Crispy and it was sat on uncooked cherry tomatoes & microwaved beans. No flavour or herbs. When checking out the next morning, management didn't even ask how the stay was (couldn't process my credit card quick enough) so I mentioned the very poor evening meal. Immediately she took offence, argued profusely and basically was calling me a liar. Eventually I just had to walk away... very unprofessional not to be able to accept some positive criticism, especially when I had just handed over $206 for a one night stay and a plate of watery and tasteless fish.

Thank you for your comments a few things in reply: Just briefly the $206 included a full breakfast for 2 people, drinks from the fridge, dinner with drinks for 2 people in the restaurant. The guests checked in at 7.26pm went to their room; docket for dinner in restaurant was finished & signed for at 8.20pm the restaurant was finished by 8.30pm because it was a quiet night. On check out there was a discussion regarding the meal that was eaten in the restaurant the previous night, the comments were on the basis of that they just didn’t like the meal, (although they ate it all) after the discussion his comment to the receptionist was well are you going to give me a discount, the reply was no. His reply to that was well then I will write on Trip Advisor, the reply to that was ok. (So if we had of given him a discount he would not have written to Trip Advisor???) I’m sorry but blackmail is not what we deal in. Another comment made by the guest was well you don’t get good reviews on Trip Advisor, then why did they stay here?? We are sorry that they did not enjoy their meal, it is one of the better sellers in our restaurant and it was at the request of other guests that it was put on the specials board after being on the previous menu and taken off the current one. His comment was that he ate at a favorite restaurant in Cairns that serves a similar dish and he did not like ours because it wasn't as good as theirs.
