Great place to stay when visiting Barcelona so don't let the distance from city centre put you off. Stayed for 4 nights between Xmas and new year and had a great time also very pleased with apartment Tram stop 6or7 min walk from hotel opposite supermarket.T3 to Maria Christina then connect to underground which goes straight to Dressangle which is at bottom of La Rambla. About 20mins on tram then 15 on underground.T10 travel card at €10.50 is brilliant as covers 10 trips. Nou Camp is only 16/17 mins on tram. Would definitely stay here again if Touring Barcelona in the future 👍

Spent 4 nights in the apartment -style room for 3 persons in the end of March 2022. Not a luxury class, but in my opinion the price/quality ratio is really good. Nothing substantial was missing in the kitchenette. Just a wine bottle opener we needed more and after asking it from the reception this was provided at once. Very much appreciated! If something not too perfect to mention, then the couchette for the third person was not comfortable to sleep on. And there could be more electrical socket outlets in the rooms. The distance to the Barcelona city centre can be easily reached with public transport and does not take too long. If arriving with the rental or your own car, seems to me that parking around the hotel is chargeable only. Overall can give my sincere recommendation for this hotel.

quiet safe neighbourhood easy connection to catalunya square and airport .Trams and metro frequent and cheap. About 30 mins to gothic quarter 45 mins to airport . clean accomodation basic kitchen nice pool staff very pleasant and helpful . Good value for money.One complaint however the safe in our room malfunctioned and would not open with passports and money inside .It took from saturday afternoon to sunday evening to open it luckily our flight was wednesda y otherwise we would have been stuck. The staff made continuous calls both to the emergency technician and to the general manager with no reply ,they were as cross as we were. Very suprising for an international brand in a city like Barcelona. This has spoiled an overall decent time.Would perhaps stay again but certainly would not use the safe .This has unfortunately reduced the overall score

As we explained you,the maintenance technician showed up at the hotel on Sunday morning but you weren't there so without your presence we couldn't touch the box. For this reason, the reception was informed of the steps to follow so that on your return this inconvenience could be solved. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you, but for the safety of both our clients and the establishment, we do not open a safe without the presence of the guest. Noise!!!! I can hear my neighbors conversation as if we were in the same room. The noise from the corridor reminds me of kids dormitories. Doors are banging all the time. The sound echoes. People talking in the corridor, don't care about making noise. Amazing. Not worth the price at all. And I'm not the kind of being cold, but the temperature in the room is cold.

Clean and spacious room, had everything we needed. Drawback is the 24 hour reception which is only manned 12-8! Then it’s a check in machine that didn’t work and I had to call the emergency number for help. A man then appeared from a door behind reception and he managed to get the machine to check us in. Restaurant never open and didn’t see another member of staff the whole 4 days we were there!! If you are looking for a base to sleep in and that’s it, this is fine.

Dirty, smelly and moldy. Just stay away. This hotel is so disgusting. My room is so dirty and the roof is black mild. The pictures speak for themself. However, the receptionist (a man) was Nice. The reception area is old and worn out. Pls see the attached photos.

The apartment was basically okay but outdated, a bit unclean and was lacking quite a lot of amenities, especially in the kitchen. Also, the sound insulation was poor. The bathroom was okay as well as the beds.

The hotel is terrible. Dirty room, corridors, elevators… the check in process is done thru a machine, clumsy and difficult to manage. The street door is terribly hard to open, and the whole place is just terrible.
Plan your trip somewhere else.

Just had a fabulous time in Barcelona. Our favourite restaurants were; Illa de gracia-great for veggie food and SO cheap (just off passeig de gracia); mosquito;veronica (on place george orwell); and Beer and Coffee across from the tourist info on placa catalunya.
We stayed at the hesperia st joan suites in st joan despi. We booked thru Expedia, who even though we called them up, would not give directions to the hotel or tell us where the nearest bus/tube stop was. In every other way though, expedia were brilliant and Monarch who we flew with were fantastic.
For those of you staying at the above hotel. From the airport, get the aerobus (discount if you buy a Barcelona card which we found invaluable) to Placa catalunya. Then take the metro Line 3 (dirreccio Zona universitaria) to Maria Cristina. From there either get a tram on the T3 line (you cant use the Barcelona card on these) to ST marti L'erm and walk the short distance to the hotel, OR get a 78 bus (direction St joan despi) straight to the hotel.

Hi, two blocks away you can find 1 big grocery store, and another one specialized in refrigerated dishes. So you wont have any problem.
In front of the supermarket there is a tram, that goes directly to the major attractions and to downtown. It will take 20~30 min, but the cost difference from staying in Sant Joan X Barcelona worths.
There are more places to choose from in the Barcelona area.
