Family run and all really friendly and approachable.
Small hotel and absolutely spotless
Plenty of room around the pool. Plenty of spare sun loungers every day and loads of umbrellas if you want shade. Lots of pool inflatables for anyone to use which worked really well.
Food was very good and cheaper than most of the local restaurants.Drinks around the pool get served in frosted cups which really helps.
The rooms are basic but absolutely spotless with everything you need.WiFi in room was fast enough to stream Netflix.
Supermarket is close and well stocked with everything you need. Even had loads of pool inflatables and toys.
The beach is about 10-15 walk with little kids down the strip.
Where if you buy drinks or food you get a lounger. The kids enjoyed the pool more so we tended to stay there.
This wasn’t five star luxury but really good value for money holiday. That was friendly, clean and my kids loved it
The owners and staff are absolutely lovely. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and they were very patient as we practiced our Greek! We have visited many of the Greek Islands and have stayed in a variety of places but the Mayflower was one of the nicest , cleanest and well run.
The apartments are well appointed. We booked two rooms to accommodate a family of four adults. (Our children are 20 and 18). One had the mountain view and the other room had the pool view.
Absolutely immaculate rooms, frequent towel and bed linen changes.
On arrival we decided to pay for one safe and air con for both the apartments for the week we were there and it came to just over 200 Euros. We were expecting it to be around that figure from our previous travels. Be aware that the Greek Government also requires a tourist levy that was about 10 Euros for each room. I think this may vary from Island to Island. I would strongly recommend the air con - temperatures were unusually high when we were there and the night temperature didn't dip below the high 20's.
The pristine and highly maintained swimming pool is open from 8am-7.30pm and food is served for a similar time. There is a large main pool and a little baby area attached.
There was a decent variety of food on the menu and it was delicious.
We walked into the town each evening and a slow stroll was about 20 minutes. The beach is at the end of the main street.
We would walk back from town at night , have a drink from the bar and play cards or have a game of Pool (there are two tables) plus there is table tennis , a well stocked book case with a variety of books to borrow or you can just chat with whoever is working at the bar or fellow guests.
This is the perfect place to just stop, unwind , relax and have fun. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Thanks to Christos and family for making us so welcome.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms basic but comfortable and what really made it for us was the very welcoming family owners - nothing is too much trouble for them to ensure you enjoy a great holiday.
The only negative for me is the TV In room only had BBC World News Channel, that said, the large TV in the Bar _ lounge showed all the major footy matches including the Premiereship.
The hotel is a leisurely 10 minute stroll from the main restaurants and bars so it was quiet in the evenings. It was a 15 minute walk to the fabulous beach / water sports etc.
There were ample sun beds around the good sized pool and the hotel very reasonably priced food and drinks.
Most guests were regular stayers at the hotel.
We will definitely stay there again when next in Kos.
A big thank you to Christos and family for a lovely holiday!!

The rooms are very spacious and offer many amenities I had not seen before from a Greek hotel. It had a small kitchenette that even included a sizeable fridge to store food and drink and a comfortable seating area with multiple sofas and even a TV (that actually worked). The AC units were also very powerful (but were a separate charge to the hotel (not included)).
The pool area was very large for a hotel of this size with more than enough sun loungers for the entirety of the hotels guests. The bar and restaurant services offered were also faultless with a large selection of Greek traditional dishes on offer and a large spirit collection available at the bar.
The staff were absolutely fantastic! They were very friendly and accommodating; welcoming us immediately on entry and even offering water after a stressful night flight. They helped us with sorting car hire and how to access the local buses to the island capital. They even offered us medication when one of our party suffered severe dehydration.
The hotel was that impressive that the only real, very small critique I can give is that the towels offered throughout the stay were as rough as sandpaper (quite simply I’d recommend bringing your own towels).
Overall, this hotel was beyond amazing and, I can say, is the best hotel I’ve ever been to in Greece so far. I am very likely to return here on the coming future and would recommend to all wishing to visit the island of Kos.
The apartment was 1 bedroom. Basic but everything you need and the rooms are big. We had a room facing the mountains which was lovely. The rooms are cleaned everyday, except Sunday and the whole place is spotless.
There was always sun loungers around the pool which was lovely and they are really comfortable.
We ate at the restaurant and the food is amazing especially the pita wraps for lunch for €3. The drinks are reasonable too.
The apartments are 5/10 minutes walk away from bars and restaurants and the supermarket.
The absolute star of the apartments is May the dog. She is absolutely lovely and the kids and adults loved her. She was definitely the best behaved and loved dog in Kos.
We didn’t leave until 6.30pm and had a late checkout at 6pm which was perfect.
Would recommend going to Zia to see the sunset, you can see the village up in the mountains.
We also got a boat from Kos town called Christina which visited 3 islands and we saw dolphins. It was €25 each from 9.30am until 5pm. It was a smaller boat than some that go but it wasn’t rammed like other boats and we spent longer with the dolphins. This price also included lunch.
The beach is about 15 minutes away and is lovely. The beds are €4 each and the best beds I’ve ever seen, so comfy.
I cannot say anything negative about these apartments and we will definitely be returning.
Thanks for an amazing holiday
We stated in room 106 which was over looking the pool and was a brilliant location. The room was perfect, comfortable and very clean with great air con and the best fridge for cooling the water/drinks.
The pool area was so clean and relaxing it was amazing plus you could get a sun bed at any time of the day!
The home cooked food at the Mayflower was really tasty and very well presented also a very good price.
The beach was a 20 minute walk and it was very breezy when we arrived which was welcome due to the temp being in the 40’s 🥵, it was slightly cooler in the evening at 34c 🥵, all the pubs and restaurants were really good offering cheap drinks and we’ll priced food.
Christos and his family were absolutely brilliant and run the place with a very friendly/relaxing atmosphere fair play just amazing!!!
10/10!!!
We will definitely try to return again someday!
