Super impressed with this hotel from even before arrival. I ordered stuff online and had it delivered to the hotel, they were prompt in responding and confirmed receipt of my package before arrival. At the hotel, there's no need to queue at the front desk to check in. You get seated in their Living Room and the staff comes by with the form to go thru and keys to complete the process.
The room including bathroom area is spacious, clean and generally new since they opened just before COVID. I love that the bathroom is an open concept with tile flooring. A separate bidet toilet bowl and standing shower that's comfortably wide. There's a laundry basket where you can placed used towels instead of throwing them on the floor to indicate to housekeeping that you want a change of towels.
They even have an area for you to sit and wear shoes! The flooring in the bedroom area is mat, like tatami which I prefer as compared to carpets. The bedroom is so spacious there's space for you to do yoga in the room, with the yoga mat that's provided along with a channel on TV playing yoga instructional videos. They provide ample bottles of water too. Even if you don't have breakfast included in your room rate, they provide free light snacks (the likes of oat bars, croissants, danish pastries) and Soy milk, coffee in the morning. Then there's Social Hour in the evening from 530 - 630pm where alcoholic drinks and canapés are served.
Bed and pillows were a bit too soft for my liking, but that's personal preference. Location wise, it's just round the corner from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station Exit 3. There are food options and facilities within 5 mins walking distance in all directions, such as a Partyworld karaoke, SOGO department store (which has a supermarket in the basement).
Throughout my entire stay I never had to open the door at the lobby. The concierge desk is right by it and there's always someone ready to open it, feeling totally pampered. A 5 Star stay worthy of the price tag and truly nothing to complain.
I do wish they have brighter lighting, in the room and lifts. Oh yes, the lifts could be improved too. There are 2 lifts but they are not linked, so often times there are inefficiencies when one presses both and both lifts go the same way.

We stayed at the Kimpton for three nights at the end of our Taiwan vacation. Being a long term IHG member it was a clear first choice given that our typical Intercontinental preference wasn't available. The Da An is a large scale boutique hotel but they manage the personal touch extremely well. The staff is friendly and very attentive, the hotel is well versed with western visitors and the entire look and feel of the hotel is very inviting and immediately familiar. The room is a gorgeous little practical arrangement with nice touches, we received sweets and fruits in the room, a handwritten welcome card (does add / underline the personal touch) and all was functioning and in order. We also made good use of the social hour in the lobby from 5:30 to 6:30 (whereas the end is something flexible) where drinks are served and snacks offered. The location was very convenient for us - MRT (metro) close by, loads of restaurants and bars (useful map provided by the hotel, study it carefully!), it's well within walking distance to the Taipei 101 and generally in a useful neighbourhood.
Now, after all this praise - why did we not give 5 out of 5 you ask? Quite simple, it's the value for money that's off. It's a gorgeous hotel, but it's also quite expensive. IMHO, too expensive. We did not book with breakfast, that would have been about 650 T$ more (22 USD give or take per person that is), and that's on top of an already stiff price. And we need to be fair to those places that we rated 5/5.. So this is up there, a 4+ and a strong recommendation to all Taipei visitors.

The prime reason for my positive review has to be the staff. Everyone at Kimpson was helpful, friendly, and keen to please. Each one i met greeted me with a smile and hello, asked if there was anything at all that I needed and went out of their way to fulfil them, they make and cancel restaurant reservations, map destinations, make recommendations, call taxi, arrange late checkout etc; none of the tasks were difficult, but they were executed accurately and efficiently. I will certainly stay there again and would recommend anyone thinking of visiting Taipei to give this a serious consideration. The fact that this is a pet friendly hotel adds marks for sure. A cosy Swedish design , (some will like it some might not) but from the moment you enter you’ll be greeted with genuine warmth and a real desire to make your trip the best or can be. The staff are the highlight of this hotel (Hunter Sun was amazing). The rooms nice and cozy with nice small details (the sesame biscuits by the bed were a real treat) The bathrooms were a bit awkward as you couldn’t fully shut the toilet door without being exposed , I can understand this for the shower but would’ve preferred a bit of privacy sitting in the toilet seat 😄. Overall loved the experience. I give it 4 out 5 and not 5 because compared to other stays in Taipei. This was a bit on the higher price side. We split our trip between Kimpton and W and ended up paying more at Kimpton without breakfast. So a small review of pricing would nudge it up a bit

What really got my attention among all the new hotels in Taipei is, the modern industrial design of this hotel. Most of my travels are solo but this time I went there with one of my best buddies. The hotel room that I got is a bigger room at the corner. The entrance of the room is long corridor with a little bench for guest to put their shoes on one side. And the other side is a separate toilet, shower/soaking tub and the sink. And the end of the corridor will be the main bedroom with a sitting area and a table. The room is a rectangular shape and has enough space for people to do some stretching exercise. They do provide a yoga mat in the room which suits younger visitors or those who take good care of the health. Bed is very comfy and the amenities are good. The downside of the design will be the lack of privacy because the toilet and the shower/soaking tub share one big sliding door with a clear glass mesh window on it, as well as the big mesh glass between the sitting area and the bathroom. The room is more suitable for couple or solo travelers. I would say their service is excellent. They have happy hour period at the lounge area (ground floor next to the lobby area) with free flow wine, simple cocktails (self serve), juice and some Hors d'Oeuvres (finger food) to serve in the early evening. The staffs are really friendly and helpful in providing info about coffee shops, restaurants and bars around. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to try their restaurant which is famous for European cuisine. Sure will visit again sometime soon!

We stayed at this hotel during our 4-day New Year family trip. The staffs at the kimpton have gone above and beyond to make sure we had a good time here, always greeting us with genuine smile, offering us drinks, helping us with luggages and providing suggestions. our relatives visiting us were also impressed by the tentative service. We had a good time at the NYE count down party on the rooftop offered by the hotel which was free of extra charge.
The hotel only opened in March 2019 so the amenities are still quite new. The rooms are simple but artfully decorated. The only complaint we had was with the sliding door, which only covers either the shower or toilet.
Overall we were very happy with our stay here. Not to mention the location is conveniently located in city center, with many malls and restaurants within walking distance

We first selected the Regent Taipei but due to the corona virus selected Kimpton What an incredible treat. There is a culture of friendliness that is far above any nervous service typically seen at higher end hotels. The service is clearly truly interested in you and the staff is equal to and surpasses staff at many 5 star hotels. The morning snacks included croissant and coffee which for me is an actual breakfast. The happy hour had wine superior to Hilton Conrad and finger food such as Scottish eggs and basil creme lamb balls. My wife hates lamb and I did not tell her it was lamb and she ate them up. For IHG members you get a voucher for a fantastic rooftop bar and drink enough for a premium drink of Tito's martini mixed perfectly by the bartender. Thanks to Hunter who kept my happy hour Australian wine full And really special thanks to William for the other wine. Rachael at administration provided an anniversary room for the gods. Kimpton Da An is the first property of Kimpton in APAC and it is not disappointing. I am glad i stayed here for two nights during my xmas trip to TPE.
Its location is just perfect since it is only few steps away from the metro station and you can find many high quality bars and restaurants in the same neighbourhood; its decoration is the Scandinavian minimalist styles which i love much;its staff are highly trained and provide warm services to the guests; the breakfast and drinks at its restaurant and bar were very impressive.
Kimpton Da an is not the typical luxury hotels , but a modern design hotel that suits those who are looking for low profile luxury.
Thumbs up to the team and the GM, i will come back for my next trip!

One of the hotels I personally shortlisted to try after googling some of the best hotels here in Taiwan. The hotel which resort endless 5/5 ratings, I’ve decided to try their highest category here which they call “Suite” but my personal opinion, it’s more of a studio than a suite.
The “Suite” which is actually just a big spacious room consist of big seating area which feels like an actual living room but without a wall separation between bed and living area (there’s curtains). In fact, the only door separation is only the toilet (without lock and mesh like windows) and the main entrance to the room. Expect doorless and open bath and bed - this means, it’s going to be awkward looking at your friends or family walking around the mesh wall between the bath and bed. It does has a really good looking bath area and a long double sink with full Aesop toiletries (suite only). Beddings isn’t the most comfortable here among the 5* I’ve tried here in Taipei, and windows isn’t the cleanest too. It might be hard for the management to schedule window cleaning too often, but it’s the little touches that make any guest even happier.
When staying here, do expect furry friends all over the hotel since this is consider one of the most furry friendly hotel in Taipei. Quench your thirst every evening with complimentary wine and make your own cocktail (chargeable) on their social hour. Must try are their bar and breakfast at Tavernist (only restaurant in the hotel). Would definitely love to come back for their tasting menu one day!
All in all was a decent stay. Excellent location, minutes away from MRT station, walkable to some of the nicer cafes and restaurants in Da An (I personally like Le Blanc a lot). The hotel fail to mention this suite has a great view of Taipei 101 from the side windows too, which was a great touch! I didn’t notice that until seeing it at Tavernist and then back to room enjoying the view. Only few things worth mentioning/improve.. probably the management would consider autonomous or remote control curtains, schedule more often windows cleaning, improving the bed linens and changing the category name to studio suite instead of just suite. I would considering coming back again and trying out the other categories and the dinner at Tavernist.

I’m happy that I chose to spend my birthday in Da an Kimpton. Checking - in experience was great , sitting down with a glass of water , and then everything all set . 17:30-18:30, I got my cat meeting with others, I’m thrilled that there’s a place like this , it’s an unexpected surprise for me and my cat .
My room 1003 was decorated for my birthday, it was lovely, and thanks everyone who helped . Especially a staff at the front desk Zoe , and the duty manager on day 1 , she called right after I walk in my room from lunch at the restaurant, offering assistance during my stay .
The Tarvernist is fantastic, I had a lunch there , dinner , and drinks at the last night . Dora was passionate as well . Even when I particularly told her the lamp was terrible ,so as everyone on the table, she’s still nice . I only pointed it out after I’ve tasted almost 20 dishes. Please do something about the lamb because I’ll pretty much come dinning every single week . Love it too much .
However, checking - out experience was unexpected. I can’t imagine I’m at the same hotel. It took me a long time “ staying in line “ to check out. This is just new to me since other IHG properties have fast track for Spire elite members. And the front dear staff didn’t return my recipe only until I asked , the worst of all was that she recorded a wrong car number so we couldn’t exit from the parking space . It’s underground, my phone didn’t work so I’ll have to come up again for this.
I still highly recommend Da An Kimpton and I’ve been sharing with friends , I’ve even started organizing my next lunch / dinner at the Tarvernist , I’ll definitely try the lamb again. Thank you for giving me a surprisingly wonderful stay .

They have baby cot option. For young children, potentially, you might need to opt for double bed, it might not be as ideal. Do give the hotel a call to explore. They are extremely helpful

Yes the hotel does. But getting there by taxi is easy. We took the metro. The ticketing and station interconnect is a little tricky but the nearest metro (I forget the name) is very close to the hotel: less than 5 minutes walk.
There are more places to choose from in the Da'an area.
