As many of the users say, there are three guided tours during the day (English always at 11 am) and videoguided tours in English, French, Spanish and Catalan every half an hour. However, groups are always accompanied by one of our tour guides, so you can ask them questions. Casa Amatler was not busy like the Gaudi attraction next door and it seemed possible just to turn up shortly before the desired hour. If any wait is entailed the cafe within the building is excellent. I try not to pre-book as anything can happen to have you miss the booking!!

We just walked in too, there were only 6 of us altogether and as everyone could speak English we didn't have to wait for a specific tour. We felt the tour was longer than half an hour but didn't note the times. Hope that this helps.
