I cannot recommend the Barcelo Teguise Beach highly enough, here’s why:
Check in: seamless, welcome drink included which we were not expecting, reception very modern and welcoming.
Room: well laid out, beautiful views, sun in morning, as we knew it would have aircon we took ear plugs and slept fine. Cleaned to a high standard, jacuzzi bath on balcony was a much needed addition to our holiday and lovely to sit in and watch the pool area and sea.
Food: we were half board so had breakfast and tea in Atlantic buffet. I can’t say anymore than WOW! I’m coeliac and the range of gluten free goodies at breakfast was insane! I’ve never been to a hotel with as much choice! I asked reception on the last night if the chefs could make me GF pancakes for our last morning and they did - they were so yummy! So much choice for breakfast and tea, at tea the chef would take me round and show me what was gluten free but also kept saying he could make me whatever I wanted also. The food was so fresh and delicious, I’d overdo it on the salad to start and struggle with main but always made room for gluten free dessert!!
Drinks: we had drinks in Atlantic buffet, B lounge and Breeze, all were fantastic, we just had to give our room number and a signature then paid at checkout. All reasonably priced, with excellent service.
Animation team: highly recommend SUPyoga! I did this pregnant and the team would tell me which bits to do and how to adapt other positions - I was very grateful! My partner also got involved with the aqua golf and shuffleboard which he thoroughly enjoyed. We missed aqua gym as it was after we���d checked out which i really wanted to have a go at and wished the animation team also did afternoon activities. Both gentlemen were great at the activities and were friendly and welcoming.
Evening entertainment: as I’m pregnant I was in bed by 8pm most evenings, however at the B lounge we did go and listen to a sax player who was phenomenal and a guy singing who was also very good! We missed all other entertainment, which was ok as my energy levels are on the floor.
Facilities: the infinity pool has stunning views and although windy, still very warm! The main pool was where we attended most, it was clean and welcoming, the only issue was the sun loungers, for our last day I even set an early alarm of 7:30am and most had gone! Pro tip, if you want sun all day, the loungers against breeze and at the top end of the pool are the ones to go for! I believe there are rules you cannot eat or drink your own items around the pool, I think as well as the don’t hot sun loungers rule I don’t think it was policed and was quite relaxed so I did take some GF goodies and water each day as well as having drinks from Breeze.
Staff: every member of staff we encountered from the moment we arrived til the moment we left was polite, friendly and welcoming. Special shout out to Melania in her red uniform and the gentlemen in Atlantic buffet who o believe was a manager, he always had a blck shirt on and had brown curly hair - between him and chef, they made my GF experience fantastic!
Other activities: our friend who had stayed a month before highly recommended buying cheap snorkels and going snorkelling at the beach to the right of the hotel, cannot recommended highly enough!! My other half isn’t a confident swimmer so bought flippers also and we both really enjoyed! We also visited Teguise market via taxi, rented a car to visit the volcanoes and beaches, visited lanzarote aquarium, went on the submarine and rented E-scooters from by hotel.
All in all a fabulous and peaceful babymoon!
