First we booked 2 nights here, but then we extended our stay for 10 more nights because we liked the Mnarani Cottages very much. The breakfast is very good, the view amazing and there are a lot of things to do at this hotel. The pool is great, much hammocks sunbeds available. Even a tour organizer is inside the hotel. Its also very safe.

For us it was important, that it is near to the Nungwi beach but not directly there because the beach boys can be sometimes annoying. So this hotel was the perfect option to be close to the Nungwi beach and having privacy at the same time.
But you have to watch the ocean, when the water comes you cant pass the beach but you have the most beautiful view towards the ocean.
The food at the restaurant is good, the prices also. Just the Wifi could be better.
The staff was veeery friendly, especially Mr. Khamid, Andrew, Juma and so much more. We felt like being at home. So when we needed help, they always found a solution for us.
We would always come back if we visit Sansibar and will recommend to our friends.

We had an amazing time at Mnarani. The whole experience was excelled. Room where spaces for my family. The food was delicious and everything was handmade and sourced locally. We tried most of the items from the menu during our stay and everything was delicious. The pizza is a must try especially if you have young kids. All staff where amazing and attentive. Zuber, Salum and the lady who was working during breakfast went above and beyond to making our stay special. Thank you Mnarani.

Beach cottages are ok. They have an amazing view but are outdated. Limited hot water and lots of bugs.

The food is absolutely terrible. We were told there was fresh fish (tuna). We ordered and it was tasteless and definitely not fresh. I later went to the kitchen and asked to see the fresh fish. They brought out frozen fish that looked like it had been in the freezer for months.

Breakfast was included but again was absolutely terrible. The first morning we ordered eggs (not too bad) but were given over cooked liver as the protein. There is no buffet. The coffee is instant and the bread is old.

The good- the staff was amazing. Very nice and treated us well.

Over all the town is very dirty and you are hassled where ever you go. Recommend only one night in Northern Zanzibar.

We had a great one week stay at the Mnarani. The room was spacious with a great ocean view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Wifi was great in all spots, including our room which was far from the pool. The breakfast buffet had a lot of variety with eggs or omelets to order. The Mnarani is within an easy walking distance of several beach restaurants. All in all, a good value, and a great place to stay on a visit to Zanzibar.
