We were on a road trip that took us through Nashville. With so much closed, we decided on the Gaylord so that the kids could enjoy Soundwaves. I didn't want to worry about the heat or trying to distance with tables and umbrellas, so we splurged on a cabana. It was $300, but it made it a much more enjoyable experience. We had a tv, fan, fridge stocked with drinks, locker for our valuables, comfy places to sit, and a server who was able to get us food and cocktails.
The water park, while not as exciting as some of the really big parks, was enough to keep us all cool and entertained for the day. Although, it would have been nice if they'd invested in the concrete treatment to help keep it cool. As for Covid related stuff, tables and chairs outside of cabanas were spaced out and lifeguards were consistently making sure people distanced in lines. Unfortunately, places like the lazy river, rapids and wave pool make it extremely difficult to distance. It's just the nature of those attractions. Still, we never felt particularly unsafe with any of it. In fact, people were very good about distancing and masks when the fountains went off.
As for the hotel, the room was comfortable and we were happy to have parking right near our section. So, that made things easy. They were also enforcing masks in the lobby, but we saw people at certain parts in the gardens going without. Still, crowds were so low that it was few and far between when that did happen. Also because of those low crowds, most of the restaurants weren't open. We ate in the hotel the first night, but ventured out to the mall area outside the resort for food the next night.
Not sure if we'd stay here again, but I'd still recommend it if you're considering it.
