Ok for this trip

Reviewed Feb 19, 2020
Attended a convention that was held at the Gaylord. For purposes of this trip, it was good. Though I'm not sure I would stay there otherwise.

Check in was fairly fast. I was put in the D towers. Carry a map when you first are getting to know this place because getting from Tower to Tower through the atrium's can can be confusing. Once you have it down though it's not too difficult.

Room was ok. Decent finishes though the shower was a little tough to figure out. More TV choices than most hotels with HBO go included. Note to property: I had an outside facing room (the others face in toward the atrium). At around 6AM every morning they start cleaning their entrances and driveways. If you are a light sleeper this will wake you. Incredibly annoying. Not sure what the interior facing rooms are like but I wish I had tried. Didn't get to sleep past 7 the entire time there.

If you want to spend significant time on Broadway (their main strip) this is not the place for you. It's about 20 minutes away and the hotel charges for shuttles. $20 will get you an uber down there but to get back...wow..that's where they get you. Up to 50 bucks to get back but the hotel shuttles end at 10:30PM (I believe) so if you're out any later than that you're going to pay the 50 spot. If you have no desire to go see the bar area the Gaylord has everything you need under one roof.

All in all it was a nice hotel but unless I was there for a convention specific to that hotel I wouldn't stay there again. Just me but I like to be closer to the sights and sounds of Nashville.

Room Tip: Get an interior room. The street sweepers start EARLY here and woke me up every morning.

I visited the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center for a weekend gymnastics meet. The facilities were clean and the garden areas were worth the trip. The cost of the hotel was in keeping with other 5 star hotels. However the food prices and 32 dollar per day self parking fee were a bit out of line. Be prepared to walk, a lot; and the layout is a little confusing, I walked 10 min.to get to a resturant only to find that had I used the elevators to the left of our room instead of right, the time was only 2 min. We definitely got our steps in.Overall, a great time in a fun city.

Room tip: Inside garden view rooms offer a better view, but more noise.

Love the design and environment of this Resort....Very clean and well kept. It is expensive and I have issues with them wanting to charge extra for many of the "things" they have that you can do within the resort. The restaurants also tend to be pricey.

The resort is huge, be prepared for a lot of walking. Even though there are a lot of restaurants they aren’t all open every night, be sure to make dinner reservations before you arrive!

Rooms are on the small side, but are nice and very clean. Staff was wonderful and the views within the hotels are amazing!

Don’t go here if you want your family to get any sleep. Live music playing until well past midnight means no restful experience for you.
Hotel management had no clue when the music would end, no effort was made to move us to a room that didn’t overlook the atrium where the music was playing, no anything. We got a shrug of the shoulders and a “well at least the music isn’t inappropriate for your children to listen to”

We will never stay here again. Never

Hello--

I'm sorry this happened. This is certainly not the way this should have been handled. Our front desk agents are empowered to move guests based on room availability in situations such as this, and I am sorry to hear that this was not done. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and I assure you, I will inquire further into this matter to avoid similar instances in the future. Again, my sincere apologies to you and your family for this incident.

This place is HUGE! There are three quadrants: Cascade, Magnolia & Delta, all leading off into different venues. Be prepared for a LOT of walking & a LOT of concrete. Feet & knees BEWARE! There's the Opryland museum, a train ride through the Gaylord Opryland are, the Mall is right next door which has a shuttle that takes you to the mall and the different quadrants. There's plenty of activities to do even if you don't leave the site, but downtown Nashville (3rd Steet) is hopping. Everything is expensive at the Gaylord, but it was well worth it.

Room tip: Day noise is high; close the doors, noise is muted. Use of black out curtains really knocks out noise especially at bedtime hours.
