Ok, Stowe is a nice walk which is less of a garden and more of a series of temples and statues. We enjoyed the walk but have to say NT prices are OTT. £28 for two to walk around just the garden!! Worth £15 tops.
We only visited because we had a free voucher for entry and it makes a pleasant dog walk. There is no way I would pay £13.00 per adult to walk around a park. Makes a pleasant change that there is no play area so it is quite peaceful and encourages families to do other things. There were games left out to play with, like quoits, which is fun. Very dog friendly. Cafe was heaving, but the pop up cafe in the grounds was a nice idea. Needless to say you pay a premium for NT refreshments. The flower borders were overgrown with weeds.
Absolutely stunning gardens and lakes, lots of wildlife and amazing views. Brilliant picnic spots but the cafe is also fantastic! The shop sells plenty of bits and bobs too!
What a lovely place to visit. Despite it being school holidays and therefore lots of children, it was still very tranquil. You can just meander along lots of paths and come across some amazing structures. Gorgeous cake in the cafe and very clean toilets. You don’t have to be a National Trust member to get free entry. I also got it as an RHS member.
Loads of history great walks with lovely scenery.
If your in the area this is a must for everyone. National trust membership is a must as without its its not cheap, and you won't see it all if you have mobility issues as it is a lot of walking.
Whilst no large house to visit there are extensive grounds and ideal for either a good walk or a walk with a dog, dogs are very welcome so long as they are on a lead at all times.
This was our 3rd visit in as many years and we have loved each trip.
Walking conditions are straightforward, in fact we saw a number of wheelchairs on this recent visit.
One thing visits should be aware of is that toilets are only available by the car park or entrance, about 1/4 mile apart, and none located in the parkland itself.
