I stumbled on The Inn on Pamlico Sound as I was headed back home to Ocracoke from Virginia Beach. I had a ton of groceries in the back of my car, I was in a bit of pain from a dermatology procedure I had earlier in the day and I was disappointed the road between The Pamlico Inn and Ocracoke Village had sustained damage during Sunday's nor'easter and were impassable. I was not a happy camper. When I walked into the office and asked if they had a room available the adorable desk clerk said 'of course!' She gave me a room on the first floor over looking the sound with my own balcony! As I was paying the owner or general manager came in and I told him about my situation. Oh! you are from Ocracoke? We are neighbors! He then gave me a generous discount! My mood immediately lifted. His generosity could not have come at a better time. My room was spectacular. Clean, inviting, well appointed and exceptionably comfortable. I slept so well and awoke alert and ready for what ever the day may have in store for me. The breakfast that comes with the room rate was outstanding. I honestly can not say enough about this little gem. I will definitely find an excuse to visit this fine establishment in the future. Thank you for everything! Ya'll are the best!!

Always a 5 star experience!

The Inn on Pamlico Sound is a 5+ star hotel that is quaint and beautiful. The views are gorgeous and each room has its own unique personality. The staff goes above and beyond every time I visit to make my stay memorable. The cleaning staff attends to your every need and beyond. The rooms and the Inn itself is spotless.
Steve the owner is gracious and welcoming every time I visit. He loves the Inn and the people who come to stay and it shows. The food is always outstanding and you can’t beat the prices for what you get. Breakfast is included!!!!
Book your stay here! You will love every minute of your stay whether it’s for business or pleasure.
You will not be disappointed and you may just fall in love with the area as I have. ❤️

The "wonderful" Inn on Pamlico Sound

Cutest Inn of them all. Rooms are clean, nice decor, and the view of the sound is spectacular. Staff is very pleasant and helpful! Common area very inviting. Theater has 500 movies to choose from, your choice. Breakfast is included. Dining is also available PLUS room service.

A truly amazing stay. I can’t wait to go again!!! The views are breathtaking too

Upon arrival we were upgraded and greeted with a smile. The room was beautiful with a private deck area with rocking chairs overlooking the water. We enjoyed walking down the boardwalk to see the sunset. The robes and snacks in our room were such a nice touch. The cookies in the afternoon were a nice surprise too!!! A breakfast is offered for $5/pp to cover the tip. It was by far the best breakfast I have had in a long time! We also ate dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed waterfront dining with exceptional food and service. I highly recommend staying here - it will be my go to place anytime I visit Outer Banks.

Excellent Sunday Brunch!

Great food. Excellent service....thank you Willow!
I enjoyed a wonderful Sunday brunch with a GalPal from work.
We both had Eggs Benedict and Mimosas. There is an extensive menu for each. A bit pricey but worth it.

The Inn on Pamlico Sound

November 2023 over Thanksgiving week. When Steve booked our room, my first question was do you have "ADA" room? Yes, Sunroom, I taken. Steve you are the best. From the time we arrived to the day we left your staff Justin, Meredith, Natasha Melissa waitress Anna were all so very helful with my husband, thank you all. I know i have forgotten some of their names but you all were so accomdating to us, thank you for that. From the breakfast to the dinners all were presented very beautiful and all were delicious. The "ADA" room we thought we were home. Two of our friends recommended The Inn on Pamlico Sound to us. Then The Inn did a wedding of the person who built our retirement home in Sunset Beach, NC, his son. Then Meredith spoke a little about the wedding. Melissa showed us around after breakfast Friday morning. How lovely and a person who has a vision of years down the road STEVE, keep going. We met Steve when checking out and he also help take our luggage to the car along with the other employees and helped Larry down the steps, so nice. I will be back but don't know how long that will be. Again, lovely lovely The Inn at Pamlico Sound. If not sure you want to visit you will not be sorry!!

Room tip: Go in the off season not cold yet no pool though.
