10 out of 10!

Review of Lord Camden Inn
Reviewed 3 weeks ago
We had a blast!
We would definitely book again.
Ann with Guest services was very helpful and the Inn was very well kept! The rooms were elegant and had a great view of the downtown and the river. The complementary breakfast and parking were incredible. We would stay again

Dear Bobby M,

Your enthusiastic 10-out-of-10, coupled with knowing you "had a blast," has brought a huge smile to my face! And thanks for your shout-out to Ann; she is really well-versed in all things Camden and Hospitality.

Knowing you would definitely book again makes me excited for your next visit--please make it sooner rather than later!

Kind regards,
Denise Moore,

We stayed in a full harbor view room on the 4th floor. We were so glad they had an elevator. Maureen checked us in and she was so sweet and helpful. The parking is down the street but they do have an unloading/loading area at the back entrance which is helpful. Once parked most everything is within walking distance. I do suggest while in Camden you go to Camden Hills State Park and drive to the overlook. We ate at the Waterfront restaurant which was in walking distance as most things are. Lord Camden Inn does have a hot breakfast buffet which also includes several cold and grab-n-go items. They also have a small exercise room which we did not use. The rooms were spacious, clean, they had a microwave and small fridge as well as a lot of storage so could be more of a longer stay property.

      Dear DENSFAM,

Your taking the time to share information regarding Lord Camden Inn is greatly appreciated. I appreciate you recognizing Maureen at check-in, as well as letting future guests know about the private, gated lot a block away and our loading/unloading zone. Please note: as there are 7 steps from the unloading zone into the lobby, guests needing assistance with luggage should always feel free to help as we have Bellmen on duty in the summer, and Front Desk staff that is always willing to help, too.

Thank you also for mentioning the free breakfast buffet with its fresh-made daily offerings, and noting our amenities such as the mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave, etc.

Hoping we have the opportunity to greet you again very soon, I am,

      Sincerely yours,
      Denise Moore,

Our stay at the Lord Camden began with a great hotel breakfast, a room where everything was in working order, and a friendly ,accessible staff to answer questions. The hotel’s location makes walking to restaurants, shops, and the water easily reached

Room tip: Parking can be challenging

Pros: There were several thoughtful touches (nice balcony with cushioned chairs, real coffee mugs, chocolates on pillows, makeup cloth, nice amenities, microwave and fridge, bottle of water) and the linens were very nice and comfy.

Cons: The A/C does not work properly. When management was told this, they said they “would check it.” Nothing was done to address it to my knowledge — the problem is it’s too big unit for the room, so it blows cold air for about 2 minutes, then the fan comes on for 20 minutes. We left the room for 5 hrs with AC on high and it went from 78 degrees to 76 in that time. Overnight, it dropped one more degree to 75 (we had it set for 66). This was when the outside temp was in the high 60s.
Good luck to people staying there when the outside temperature is in the 90s.

Floors are creaky overhead; tub/shower is super squeaky and loud every time you make a small step.

      Breakfast looked AWFUL.

Room tip: Don’t stay here when the outside temp is over 70 degrees. Go across the street for breakfast (hotel breakfast is AWFUL).

      Dear Ecotait,

Thank you for sharing your Pros and Cons regarding your recent stay. We certainly appreciate your mention of the many amenities and thoughtful touches that helped make your stay enjoyable.

And we appreciate hearing about the areas that weren't as successful, too. I do see a Maintenance report, but it obviously was not corrected properly, for which I offer my sincere apologies. Regarding the super squeaky tub/shower: you have me very curious as that particular item has not been brought to my attention before! Now I want to go testing tubs!

For your next visit, please call us directly and ask for a room on the 4th floor as 1: no floors (creaky or otherwise) above you; and, 2. All rooms only have walk-in showers!

Thank you again for your information. I do hope we can greet you again very soon.

      Cordially,
      Denise Moore,

Warm welcome at front desk on a rainy evening. Greeted with homemade chocolate chip cookies and a $10 off certificate for their sister hotel's bar/restaurant the Vintage Room. Perfect setting for morning coffee on our King room's little balcony.

As a first time guest, being treated like a frequent guest, would likely be a positive attribute of this property. However, for us as frequent guests we were disappointed. Because we have family in Camden, my wife and I stay at this property several times a year. We recently booked a stay for July, after just being at the property in April, and had to cancel less than a week after we made the reservation. When my wife called to cancel the women on the phone recognized her name as being a frequent guest (for years). Despite our loyalty to this property we were charged a cancellation fee, just like someone booking online for the first time. That just doesn't sit well with us. As for our stay in April, the property is in need of refreshing. The carpets are old, look dirty and are frayed. We were in a suite with a fireplace and besides the rug issues, the fireplace made quite the racket when turned on. There were other issues as well, including a deck in need of repair. I'm not saying we won't stay here again (as we were going to overlook these issues for the convenience of the location when we booked in July), only that we will now begin to explore other Camden properties not associated with this owner.

      Dear Robert,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns with us regarding your April stay, and the cancellation of your July reservation.

After researching your Reservation Activity and Guest Notes for the cancelled July stay, I do see that our Guest Services Associate processed the $50 cancellation fee as per our usual practice. I do see we offered to hold your entire deposit (without a cancellation fee) on file so that you would still have the full value for a future stay, but the offer was declined. This option is a great alternative as it gives guests the full value of their deposit (no cancellation fee) for when alternative travel dates are necessary.

I'm happy we were able to connect this morning and further explain this deposit hold offer to you for the future to avoid a cancellation fee.

I look forward to your return and you being able to experience some of our great property updates that are in motion and include removing carpets and installing hardwood floors, bathroom showers and balcony repairs to many rooms.

Thank you again for the opportunity to connect today. We'll see you soon!

      Kindest regards,
      Erick Anderson
