Excellent budget friendly ocean front hotel

Reviewed Jan 9, 2023
The two men at the check in desk were so friendly and always had a smile on their faces. I wish I would have got their names. I love the waterproof bracelet room keys. The hotel was clean and our room was updated. They do not send in cleaning staff daily unless requested which I love. They have a towel exchange where you can put any dirty towels in a basket outside your door and they will exchange them. Laundry onsite was $2.00 for washing and $2.00 for drying. They have a vending machine but not a drink machine onsite. Pool and hot tub are smaller but are well kept. Really enjoyed the property and the price was much less than other hotels in the area. The beach in this area is perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Madeira Beach. Johns Pass is within walking distance and is full of shops, restaurants, bars, arcades, and rentals for Jet skis.

We stayed here in a 2 bedroom partial gulf view room for 3 nights after a holiday in Orlando.
The room was very spacious, decorated to a good standard, well appointed with a good size kitchen and bathrooms and spotlessly clean. Every member of staff we encountered were lovely. The only negative is we weren’t staying longer!
Johns Pass is a 5 minute walk with lots of bars and restaurants. We ate at Friendly Fisherman and Johns Pass Grille which both had fantastic food and amazing, friendly and attentive service. We also ate at Bubba Gump, the food there was nice however the service left a lot to be desired.
Most definitely recommend a stay at the Barefoot Beach Club and would return for a relaxing stay in this lovely part of Florida.

What a great place to stay. We booked the two bedroom apartment and were not left disappointed. Two large bedrooms, one en suite with a large lounge diner and kitchen, and large balcony. Decorated to a nice lovely standard. Each room has a TV.

Key card access and bands were provided. We didn’t have a car but a space is provided with the booking.

Great kitchen facilities which were easy to use and modern, with a fridge 3 times the size of a UK one.

The pool was great and jacuzzi nice and hot and a two minute stroll to the white gorgeous sandy beach. Leave your shoes in the room.

Reception and staff really helpful.

Entertainment wise, St Johns Pass is a 5 minute walk over the road with some great bars and food places. Caddy’s and Crabby’s over the bridge were by far the best for food. For a relax Bamboo Bar & Grill was great. Walking the other way is another Crabby’s with great vistas over the beach for a nice relaxing wine.

All in all a lovely place to start the holiday in Florida, now time for a move down the beach and try another place.

We will definitely stay here again.

We would recommend visiting Walmart or similar on the way if you have a car as local Win Dixie is quite expensive for the UK visitor. Bring your own nappies and swim nappies if needed.

We also downloaded the Lyte app similar to Uber for a ride from the airport which was $60.

Great place to stay 5*

Stayed four nights in a lovely room with a sea view.

As we were about to leave, to drive to the east coast, hurricane Nicole happened. The staff at reception advised us to wait until after the storm had passed before starting our journey. They extended our check out time by two hours, at no extra cost. Explained the route that we should take and were altogether exceptionally helpful. Thank you.

Plus: The hotel location is great! Check in was easy and the pool area is perfect for family’s and kids, a lot of parking spaces available. The system of changing towels and getting more toilet paper is more “European” and definitely more environmentally friendly.
Minus: Everything extra needs to be paid for, like chairs on the beach (I would expected the hotel to at least provide some). The part of the hotel we lived in (the older part) was quite old and not super fresh but still okay. To not provide any cleaning service and instead say that it’s for “the safety of the guests” feels lazy, something should be provided. There are coffee makers available but nothing for tea.

Staying at the hotel for 5 days, I never once interacted with any of the staff. I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing! :)

Would come back but would hope to get one of the newer apartments then!

We were a last minute family getaway and we happened to call Amanda. Our room was right on the ocean with a spectacular view of the sunset. We were delighted with every facet of our accommodations, but I have to say the new pool was just so much fun with fountains and beach balls. We will most definitely return soon, thank you Amanda and your property for a great mother/daughter trip!

Room tip: Parking was fine, ask for a beach view it changes your paradigm, this is a very organized guest friendly resort
