Comfortable, spacious and convenient

Two comfy king beds (one a Murphy bed but no less comfortable). Large room. Great shower - hot water and good pressure. The cold water tap in the bathroom sink was non-functional but otherwise everything was good. Breakfast was not included, but was available.

Had a corner king suite. Great space, but extremely echo-y. Found someone else’s sock in the TV credenza, so clearly not thoroughly cleaned. No WiFi at all the whole time there (even with the password provided - no networks available!) and when I told the front desk, they all 3 stared blankly at me and said “but we have it on our phones.” No offers to help me connect or investigate, no apologies for the lack of internet for my phone or computer during my stay. Yikes. Embarrassing customer service display on behalf of Vail, tbh.

Room tip: 5-7 is good for low hot tub traffic

Most run down hotel I've seen (at any price) in a decade. Broken stuff everywhere except the lobby. Poor wifi.
No towels at the pool. Crowded hot tub (midweek!) with lots of 3-6 year old kids. Only low quality french roast coffee in the room. Huge hole in bathroom door. Loud noise in bathroom.

The hotel is more and more run down each year we come right as new fees are added. I think this will be our last time.

Also beware, BARKING DOGS EVERYWHERE! Front desk shrugs shoulders. “Yeah—lots of people bring their dogs”

Those of you with dogs, please don’t leave them unattended and please show some respect to others.

Let's start with the most horrendous: No HOT WATER to shower! Why? Well, according to the Grand Lodge...We only have 1 boiler and they are fully booked so usage is overwhelming the system and causing a lack of hot water. This has been going on for 2 days... And it's not just a limited amount of time... We have been trying to get hot water for many hours.
Now there are a lot of other issues that I will list but a ski resort not having hot water is unacceptable.
Let's look at some other things. Attached are pictures of the drawers. Would you put your clothes in here? We booked a place that's supposed to have kitchen facilities. The kitchen facilities consisted of a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. The layout prevents access from one side of the bed. Vacasa is also useless. Before we checked in on February 11th, they sent a million notifications with useless information and incorrect information. They have been useless in getting anything rectified. They keep saying the right tickets but I don't know what the tickets are for.. because there's never anything that happens from them. Not that this matters, but the decor is circa 1976. When we came in yesterday, the door to the closet was hanging loose. To their credit someone came immediately and fixed it. Perhaps I would have been better off in a hostel! There were other minor issues but why would anyone want to come to a place where they don't have hot water to take a shower

This is a nice hotel for ski season. It's located right a very short walk from the ski slopes and they offer a valet for skis just outside the door. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have kitchenettes (at least ours did - a double king room). That saved us time and money in the mornings with breakfast. There is plenty of space for a family. It is a little bit older building and there is some wear in places but it is minor. I would stay here again.
