Spa day use

Reviewed Apr 7, 2022
Our group of 4 came for massages and day use of the spa. We really enjoyed the various pools, had an affordable and generally pleasing lunch on site, and loved the massages. Kudos to Rosalinda and Nick.

Had a day pass here to spend the day chilling out before flight home the next day. Pool area quiet and clean but changing rooms very poor state of repair. This place is past its heyday, looks understaffed and is in desperate need of renovation. We ate on site after pool time but again, faded decor, overwhelmed staff and a place that’s slowly heading for closure. A real pity

Room tip: No lockers in changing rooms available for day guests. Not the cleanest

We visited on a day pass to enjoy the advertised eight Hot Springs pools.
Changing room but no lockers with locks available.
We were disappointed in the variety of hot springs. They did have 8 pools but the temperatures didn't vary too much. It was a cool day we visited so we wanted the warmer pools which were crowded by the same people the duration of our visit.

In it’s heyday this was probably a great place. Not so now. It is run down, smells funny, is aging and apparently no steps are being taken to upgrade it. After a day or two we figured out the main attraction now is pot which you can have delivered to your room. Basically it is a party place for marijuana users. Great if that is you thing and we are not judging anyone but it made two senior citizens uncomfortable to be around. If you are looking for a “Resort and Spa” in the traditional sense you should look elsewhere.

We’re not picky about hotels and are happy with clean sheets and hot water. We were still disappointed.

The shower was scalding hot the first night and only lukewarm all the days after that.

The staff is clearly overworked, and this translates into very poor service. They don’t answer the front desk phone when you call from the room, and they ignore people patiently waiting in line and help anyone who approaches and interrupts instead. Guests are required to return the keys to the front desk at checkout, and when I did this in the early morning it was the only time there wasn’t a line. Unfortunately, the employee on duty was on his personal cell phone and not in any hurry to acknowledge or help me.

My room key stopped working midway through our stay, and the employee reprogrammed it without asking for my name or any identifying information whatsoever.

The air intake screen on the hair dryer was so packed with dust and lint that it hardly blew any air and was useless.

The final charges were higher than the charges on our reservation, with no explanation and no incidental charges made to the room.

Other things to know if you decide to stay here: This hotel was probably beautiful in its heyday, which is now long past. It is now shoddy with peeling finishes and leaky ceilings when it rains.
The toiletries provided are insufficient for more than one night, and there is no housekeeping provided during your stay. See above regarding trying to ask the front desk for help in any way. The room has a rickety microwave and a mini-fridge with no freezer compartment. The pools are dated but were warm and did not smell of sulfur. There is a sofa but there is no ceiling light or lamp anywhere nearby, so reading there is impossible. The two queen mountain view room is spacious, and the view is of a run-down neighborhood and some power lines with a glimpse of mountains. There is no fitness center. Parking is tight. There is a gift shop, an on-site restaurant, and a spa, but we did not use these services so I cannot speak to their quality.

We are sorry you feel that way. We are overall a much more comfortable resort than the Super 8 and sorry to hear that you did not enjoy any of the dining or spa services offered on site. Our free wifi and parking and 24 hour pools are all available every day of the year. We do understand your desire to leave us valuable feedback and thank you for words. We will look into the areas you addressed and see if they can be enhanced immediately. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

What to say...
Negative; check-in was delayed. Bathroom in room barely functional--water either burning or freezing. Decor has seen better days. Customer service: nothing worthy of that name. No washcloths. Little soap. Burning popcorn in corridors.
Positive: delightful hot springs. Open 24/7. beautiful setting. Very pleasant ambiance. Wide variety of people. Unpretenious and congenial. Nice for families AND couples or groups of friends.
Basically--water delightful, property down at the heels.
