We’re not picky about hotels and are happy with clean sheets and hot water. We were still disappointed.
The shower was scalding hot the first night and only lukewarm all the days after that.
The staff is clearly overworked, and this translates into very poor service. They don’t answer the front desk phone when you call from the room, and they ignore people patiently waiting in line and help anyone who approaches and interrupts instead. Guests are required to return the keys to the front desk at checkout, and when I did this in the early morning it was the only time there wasn’t a line. Unfortunately, the employee on duty was on his personal cell phone and not in any hurry to acknowledge or help me.
My room key stopped working midway through our stay, and the employee reprogrammed it without asking for my name or any identifying information whatsoever.
The air intake screen on the hair dryer was so packed with dust and lint that it hardly blew any air and was useless.
The final charges were higher than the charges on our reservation, with no explanation and no incidental charges made to the room.
Other things to know if you decide to stay here: This hotel was probably beautiful in its heyday, which is now long past. It is now shoddy with peeling finishes and leaky ceilings when it rains.
The toiletries provided are insufficient for more than one night, and there is no housekeeping provided during your stay. See above regarding trying to ask the front desk for help in any way. The room has a rickety microwave and a mini-fridge with no freezer compartment. The pools are dated but were warm and did not smell of sulfur. There is a sofa but there is no ceiling light or lamp anywhere nearby, so reading there is impossible. The two queen mountain view room is spacious, and the view is of a run-down neighborhood and some power lines with a glimpse of mountains. There is no fitness center. Parking is tight. There is a gift shop, an on-site restaurant, and a spa, but we did not use these services so I cannot speak to their quality.
