We just got home from Iberostar Grand Bavaro, not impressed at all. I’m not even talking about the horrible seaweed problem that they have because obviously it’s not their fault but nature problem.
The room was ok, nothing special, we saw a dead roach in the room.
The resort looks nice and the grounds are beautiful.
The biggest problem is the food!
The steak restaurant was a joke, the food was tasteless and they completely did our orders wrong. The buffet for lunch and breakfast was bad, food looks and tastes awful. The fresh juices were tasteless, orange juice was very sour and papaya juice not sweet at all! I don’t understand how in the tropical country they don’t have tasty juices from fruits that grow there!!
Some restaurants inside smell like mold ( Italian and French) and the food wasn’t good either. It’s funny how they put up a show; there are several servers one for the bread, another for water , another one for wine and another one for food, you would have thought that you are in a fine restaurant but when they bring your food you are for a rude awakening 🤣
The only OK restaurant was the hibachi and you needed a reservation.
Also there is no drink service at the beach neither!
We have been going to many all inclusive hotels , mostly in Mexico, less to DR but this hotel is the worst so far and unfortunately the most expensive! I feel cheated that I felt for the reviews of this hotel, not sure how could anyone give this hotel 5 stars! Maybe 3 the most!
Unless this is your first trip ever!
There were few employees that were very nice and helpful ( Milosi, Santos) and the floor concierges but mostly, people who work there are not very friendly and don’t seem to like their job or care.
We did make the best of our vacations by enjoying the beach and taking lots of walks around the resort and the beach.
We will not return here and not recommend staying here to anyone!
