We have just returned home from Amphoras Aqua, and miss it already! This hotel is only 15 min from the airport and 10 min walk to the private beach at the sister hotel. I say beach but ideal for snorkelling off their own reefs, but not your typical white sands water lapping the shores kinda beach. You can have use of this pool bar all inclusive and it has the best food at lunch times, fresh pizza chips etc.
The hotel was clean and had lovely grounds. 2 pools one with slides for the kids. The pools were very clean and always had a free sun bed for us, was not that busy so was happy not to rush down to try get a sun bed. Was also lit up at night with pretty lights S this is where the evening entertainment took place.
We stayed a week over Xmas and was 11 of us in total. The best part about the hotel was the extremely friendly staff. Everyone goes out of their way to help you and make you feel comfortable in your stay there.
Special thanks to Felix from animation who was very helpful giving us tips and ideas on where to go and helped us feel at home at the hotel. Also special thanks to Michelle from animation who was always very bubbly and friendly making us all welcome. The kids made friends with all the lifeguards who were also very friendly and welcoming.
We also had the friendliest bar man Ahmed who would make us special cocktails and always smiling and friendly with us us all joking with us and making us laugh!
My only downside would be that the food seemed to be catered for all the Eastern Europeans staying there, as much as it’s seemed really nice food was just not to the liking of most of our family. Would of been nice to have more basic food like pizza and chips etc that the kids would eat without complaining. There was a snack bar at the beach of the sister hotel which did good pizza and chips at lunch time. This would of been very welcomed at the our hotel with the kids and at least we would know they had a decent meal everyday. As we didn’t want to go down to the sister hotel all the time.
So room for improvement would be to provide a decent snack bar for kids during the day with ice cream and food ect. Also cater for a more British palette. Another suggestion is to make sure they serve cold beers or get some on draft, as nothing worse than a warm beer.
Bar man in the hotel lobby (Mohammed) made the best coffees too.
Overall I give the hotel a 9/10 and that’s just because the kids were not keen on the food.
