An OK resort

Reviewed Mar 23, 2024
RCI members: If you are an RCI member and are considering this resort, our recommendation would be don't waste your points and cash. As well as the RCI exchange fee you will be charge $150 or $200 for service costs. Bearing in mind the services are minimal this is very high. And you can get it much cheaper through a hotel booking site.

Some bad points before the good, based on our stay:
- There was no pool bar
- There was no restaurant
- The toilets near the pool, in reception, were out of order
- There are bad rooms and ok rooms. We complained about the quality of our first room, due to the state of the bath, and was moved to a much better room.
- Vents are open in many rooms allowing mosquitos entry. We plugged these with plastic bags.
- The AC was very poor, set to 25'C, with no ability to change
- The TV didn't seem to have access to channels in English.

The Good, based on our stay:
- The resort manager was fantastic. On day 1 he took us to the local fish restaurant and supermarket, showing us around and translating for us. Important purchase was mosquito spray. He booked taxis for us and was generally very helpful.
- Our room, was actually OK. Basic but OK. The kitchen consisted of: a sink with cold water (no hot), a large fridge freezer, kettle and a dual electric hob (no microwave).
- The beds were comfortable and clean.
- The pool was cool but clean, again due to the hard work of the manager and his team.
- We were the only people on holiday so we had the pool to ourselves! There were only 11 sunbeds but we had the choice of all of them. No need to get up and reserve your space :) The other guests seemed to be business people.

The local fish restaurant was a great Egyptian experience. Not a holiday restaurant, a restaurant used by Egyptians. Loads of food for £5 per person. Choose your fresh fish and wait for it to be prepared.

The resort is a 20 minute walk from Sharks Bay beach. However, the walk is on a very dusty road with a constant stream of lorries moving sand and churning the road. The restaurant on the beach was great. Cheap and great quality. The two of us ate for about £15, including drinks.

Would we stay here again? No. There are much better resorts for the price we paid. But for a cheap place to stay while taking advantage of the Sharks Bay dive centre it may be worth considering.

The guy from the reception speaks nearly no english and he is completely respectless and unpolite! When I asked him to call the taxi driver to tell him that he shall come 15 minutes earlier he didn't want to do it, screamed at me and was very respectless!
Finally he did it blaming me at the phone while talking.
Probably it's because I am a woman! Never seen something like this!
He is not my boss! I'm the customer!
Beside that I always had to search him! He was never in the reception!
I will never go back there!!

I only stayed a couple of nights at Logaina, and I booked through AirBNB. The service I received there from the host and from the manager (Mr Khalaf) was some of the best I've ever received from a hotel, and I travel often. When I arrived the kitchen sink was not working but they fixed it immediately, and the host and Mr Khalaf always went out of their way to make sure my stay was pleasant.

The one bedroom suite was very clean; the bed comfortable although the bedding was worn. The AC worked great, and was necessary during the 38+ temperatures during the day!

The location is not ideal -- it is very close to the airport but a 15-20 minute taxi ride away from the centre. There are a couple of grocery stores right next to Logaina with plenty of snacks and food for small meals. The beach is not at the door but nearby, maybe a 15 minute walk.

It wasn't perfect but it was great for what it was -- you really cannot beat the price or the service.

I only stayed here one night - as a cheap option because my flight arrived at 1am sharm time and I didn't fancy spending the first day of my holiday sleeping on an airport floor.

First thing to point out that this hotel is NOT walking distance from the airport at all. Its a good 35min walk along a road that will not allow you to wheel your luggage - its a bad idea and google maps does not accurately show how far away from the airport entrance it actually is. Plus its hard to find from the road as there are no signposts.

My room was fairly large and had a big ish bathroom and a fridge. The bedsheets weren't clean tho and there was loads of bodge diy, unused old locks on doors etc..

The mains pool area was ok - I only spent a few hours there. The other pool was green and stagnant and the manager lied to me about it being temporary and sorted out.

The staff were about at 2:30am to check me in and were moderately helpful.

tbh its only another 10mins in a taxi to naama bay and the taxi isn't much more so there is no point staying here whatsoever. I would think during the quiet season ahead for sharm then place might close down anyway - it certainly isn't a place to book your holiday given the other options available.

The Staff were always willing and able to meet our needs. The pool was clean and so much fun! The airport so close that one could walk. The short walk to the Red Sea and Shark's Bay is great way to see the area and get one's sport in each day. For sure that we will be back!

Room tip: Try to ask for a room that looks over the pool and out toward the Red Sea. You also get the morning sun in those rooms.
