We were robbed. Someone came into our room and went into my husbands backpack and stole $1300.00 in cash.
We are not sure if the perpetrator came through the balcony, or through our room or through another room on the hallway wing. You see, there is no safety partition separating our room from the rooms next door via the balcony. Anyone can walk along the balconies! And access rooms other than theirs! I've never seen this in a hotel.
The management wasn't helpful at all. Randall insinuated that we might have "misplaced" the money and Randall also smugly told my husband numerous times that "there is a safe in the room" which we should have used. Thanks, Randall.
We were NOT compensated for our trouble. We stayed in a suite for two nights. Management should have at least comped one night, preferably two, but they would not when we asked. They offered us a free night when we return. NO, we will never return. In fact, the management made us feel like we were running some kind of scam. terrible.
Another problem with the hotel was ... both morning there was a huge truck parked outside on the street with its motor running. Both mornings we sat outside drinking coffee and could not hear the ocean because of the damn truck's noisy engine. For nearly two hours both mornings.
It was not a relaxing hotel. Pool too crowded. Too many kids. The hot tub was always packed. Always more than the 12 person limit. Mostly little kids too.
10 am check out is also not ideal.
The good: Brenda at the front desk was a doll. Bands playing at the bar were great.
