Nice stop over for a cruise.

Reviewed Jan 14, 2020
Most reviews have it about right- OK for a night or so prior to a cruise. Nothing fancy but clean. The front staff were always helpful even if they only spoke French. Wifi was weak throughout the hotel. Security for the hotel seemed OK. Right across from the harbor and a short walk to the food trucks. Seemed a safe walk even at night.
Date of stay: December 2019
Room Tip: Don't face the harbor Too noisy unless you are from NYC!

On the waterfront and well-positioned but starting to get a bit tired, Staff very good and the included breakfast was fresh and enjoyable. Plenty of restaurants, bars and coffee shops in easy walking distance

This was our second time staying at Hotel Tiare Tahiti and this time we opted for the slightly less cheap (but still cheap) harbor view room with balcony. We appreciated the view and it made a big difference in making the room feel nicer (in spite of the less than posh decor). It was also surprisingly quiet, considering we were staying there on a Saturday night in the middle of town.

Amenieties are minimal--no hair dryer, washcloths, safe or toiletries (other than soap and combined shampoo-conditioner), but there was a hot water pot that we would have used to make coffee (we brought our own) if we hadn't had to leave at 6am to catch our flight home. The lady at the front desk arranged a taxi for us the night before and it was waiting when we got down stairs at 5:55am.

Speaking of taxis, we actually took a taxi from the ferry dock to Hotel Tiare Tahiti upon our arrival from Moorea. The fare was 15xpf, which is a little high for the short distance, but understandable since drivers have to make a living and we also had big suitcases that had to be loaded and unloaded. It was worth it to us.

Room tip: Harbor view room is well worth the price difference

My husband and I recently stayed one night at the Tiare Tahiti hotel due to our late arrival on Tahiti. Quick drive from the airport. A buzzer let the clerk know that we had arrived as it was late. The room is very spare. A very lumpy bed in the corner. A table with two chairs. Two glasses and a bar of soap. That is all you get. The air conditioner was super noisy and didn't really cool the room down. We had to turn it off after about 2 hours as the noise of it was keeping us awake. Breakfast was a glass of juice and croissant with another roll. I was not expecting luxury, but this was really spartan. We were happy to check out and move on. Walking distance to ferry terminal and the public market.

My Husband and I stayed at the Tiare Hotel for 2 nights in September 2019. The Hotel doesn't have a pick-up shuttle service from the Airport. The taxi to get there was only $20 and we were able to pay in American Dollars. It took just about 10 minutes to arrive. Tiare Hotel  was a clean hotel and very centrally located. It is about a 5 minute walk from the famous market and to most of the downtown restaurants, churches, and shops. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the Ferry that takes you to Moorea. I liked how Tiare Hotel provided breakfast every morning. What I didn't like so much was they make you pay for WiFi, and the traffic from the street is very loud and it starts at 4am. However, the view looking out at the water was nice. I recommend this place for a 1 night stay just to explore the downtown area.

Room tip: Pretty view towards the bay, but the traffic is very loud.

The hotel is perfectly located on the marina, near the roulottes. It is extremely clean (crisp white sheets, soft bath towels). there is a kettle in the room and an old TV set. The staff is friendly and trustworthy. There is no free wifi, but they sell you a wifi card. Alternatively, you can get free wifi in many of the restaurants/cafés in the small mall downstairs or in the Bougainville Park, which is a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms facing the marina offer a great view on the sea and the mountain in the background, but they are noisy early in the morning because of traffic.

Room tip: The choice is between a quiet room and a wonderful view of the marina.
