This trip to St. Lucia has been incredible and it’s all thanks to Coocnut Bay (and some incredible St Lucian views, of course).

We came here for a wedding, so we didn’t get to pick the place which was a bit unnerving as my wife and I like to do a lot of research. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results. The staff are so kind, the food is plentiful and delicious (more on that later) and the resort coordinates affordable adventures that let you break away from the monotony (albeit beautiful monotony) of drinking by the pool.

Our group did the snorkeling excursion and it was fantastic. So much activity underwater compared to other snorkeling we’ve done and stunning views of the island along the way.
Because Coconut Bay is on the seaweedy, choppy-ocean side of the island, I highly recommend the excursions that let you experience all that the island has to offer, especially when it comes to iceman activities.

The wedding has been easily accommodated, which is a real feat considering our group is about as easily to accommodate as a pack or stray cats and dogs. Everything from fluctuating excursion group sizes (didn’t plan for that hangover), to large food/drink orders, and venues to house our rowdy crew were graciously allowed without a blink. Incredible staff.

Food is a huge part of why I travel, so i want to give you an honest critique of our experience.
The breakfasts are solid. Highly recommend the omelette station(shoutout to Mary on the cooktop keeping up with so many custom orders) or the griddle for French toast etc. there’s a great barista, and a solid selection of fruits, proteins etc.

Buffet-wise lunches and dinners have enough options that you’re bound to find something you like but hands down the best meals I had daily were at the Jerk Treehouse. A taste of local food like Jerk Chicken, pork, fish, beans and rice, plantains were the way to go (for me personally). Food is a window into new places and I didn’t fly all this way to be fed hot dogs and cheeseburgers (but those are essentials for late night munchies so don’t get me wrong).

I became a regular with Sharnil and Harley at the Jerk treehouse and had to get a selfie with the folks who absolutely made this trip. The only thing more authentic than the food they served was the kind and warm island vibe they served it with. You can tell they have a good time at work making people happy and giving them the chance to try something new. And their salsa SLAPS.

All in all I can’t say enough nice things, but for a trip that we took to support our friend, this one will be ranked as highly in our minds as a trip we picked and planned ourselves. Thanks CBay!
