It’s a very good hostel. Mixture of social and relax/recharge. BYO etc so it’s chill. Staff always around so can help with things. Also, the free stuff is gooooood! Free gym, free breakfast, free bbq.

I've only slept one night at the Mad Monkey Village to catch a flight the next day but really I wish I had stayed longer. The ambiance was good and there was free breakfast from 8 to 10 which was much appreciated. Also the staff was really friendly & helpful; they allowed me to leave my luggage in their storage room for the day even though I had already checked out. Pethaps the only downside would be the noise/loud music at night. Would recommend!

Great place to stay. Both a social and calm environment. Free breakfast is really nice and also a free BBQ on Mondays. Kitchen is cleaned regularly which is good. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay again.

This hostel exceeded my expectations in every possible way. The hostel staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. They were so helpful and accommodating to my questions and needs. The hostel was clean and well kept by the staff, I could constantly see they were working hard to maintain this high standard.
The facilities were adequate with some events such as free bbq on Mondays and free breakfast every day! The pool area is nice with all the palm trees, creating a lovely setting to spend your afternoons in the sun. There is so much to do in cairns with flyers all around the building and staff provided me with additional information which I deemed very helpful.
The location was absolutely fine for me, just a short ten minute walk into the CBD which was great for getting those steps in!
I felt welcomed by the lovely team who always had a smile on their faces. Thank you MadMonkey for my great stay! If I'm ever in cairns again I will be back!

The staff at this hostel were super friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean and tidy, housekeeping came everyday. Sociable, would recommend for solo backpackers as well as group backpackers. Definitely will be back

I highly recommend staying here. Great facilities : Large kitchen space with oven, lots of fridge space, pool, free gym and free pancakes for breakfast! Staff are really helpful. The hostel is very social but still quite after 11 so it's ideal if you are staying here while working.
