Amazing Stay in Old Town

Reviewed 2 weeks agovia mobile
This was me and my boyfriend’s first time in Cinque Terre and I found out about this hotel from Trip Advisor and all its great reviews. It definitely lived up to my expectations. To start it’s less than a 10 minute walk from the train station and right in the center of all the action in Old Town. The owner Gabrielle was super accommodating and helpful in every aspect. When we checked in he gave us a thorough explanation of things to do, places to eat, and other recommendations. We stayed in the room at the very top floor, there are no elevators but Gabrielle carried my heavy 50 pound bag all the way up the stairs and back down when I checked out. We stayed in the room with the sea view and terrace. Our room was clean, spacious for the 2 of us and we had an absolutely stunning, large terrace that gave us 360 views of old town. It also had its own air conditioning unit that we were able to control with a remote. The bathroom and shower were small, but got the job done. The room was made up every day and replenished with fresh towels. The breakfast was a large spread with lots to choose from including cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses, etc. Gabrielle made me a fresh cappuccino every morning which was excellent. And to top it off this place is so affordable! Our stay at peak season was only 180 euros ($200) a night. I couldn’t believe it, you can barely find a halfway decent place any travel destination in the US. This stay made our first time in Cinque Terre a very memorable one and I can’t wait to return.

Conveniently located about 10 min on foot from the train station in Monterosso. The front desk staff, Gabriel, was the most helpful hotel staff I have ever met. He told us all we needed to know about the town, the restaurants and other conveniences, and tended to all our needs and whims diligently. The hotel rooms were comfortable and clean. The fridge was well-stacked. Our room had a cute a little balcony overlooking the town. The breakfast terrace has a breathtaking view of the beach, the mountain, the clock tower and the surrounding scenery. You should book a room here with Gabriel when you come to Monterosso. You won't regret the experience, guaranteed!

Gabriele is a wonderful host. Lovely European breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Amazing cappuccino. Meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, pate, jams, fresh fruit, yogurt and Italian pastries. Rooms are clean and well stocked bath and mini frig. Location is central to Monterosso. He has beach towels for the beach or boat cruises. A delightful place to stay. The price is well worth the experience.

This is THE place to stay while visiting Cinque Terre! Gabriele made sure that his guests are well informed, happy and comfortable. He carried our heavy luggage upstairs when we arrived and when we were checking out. A charming host with whom we enjoying conversing at length. The breakfast was delicious and satisfying. While it was cold and partly cloudy we were fortunate to have a window seat with a wonderful view of the sea while having our breakfast.

This hotel was an easy walk from the train station and had exactly what we hoped for: We reserved the room on the top floor with a private terrace overlooking the sea (MAGIC). It had a fantastic breakfast spread and the most hospitable owner/manager we have ever come across. He made recommendations for dinner and daytime excursions and everything he suggested was bang on. He also insisted to carry our bags upstairs… it was so very generous.
The room itself wasn’t huge, but it had everything we needed. The deck was where we spent most of our time when it was light out and we were in the room. Definitely would recommend this stay to anyone looking to visit Cinque Terre!!!!

Room tip: We asked for the room with outdoor space in advance and it was clear others wished they had… :)

This was a return visit for us to this wonderful little hotel run by Gabriele.. the most attentive and proud hotel owner we have ever come across. We couldn’t wait to get back after loving our previous stay and it was as good as we remembered it… even better! The location is fantastic in the old town of Monterosso with restaurants in close proximity but not too close to cause a disturbance during the night. The bed was super comfy… in fact one of the best in our 7 weeks of travel. Breakfast was so good.. that lemon cake Gabriele was a highlight!!!!! And still great cappuccinos made by Gabriele served whilst enjoying Brekky on his lovely terrace. Do yourself a favour you won’t be disappointed!!!!
