This B and B is not located in an upmarket area of Naples. It is situated at the corner of what can only be described as a
run down area. The garden area was overgrown and inaccessible. On arrival we were met by Paolo who requested that we
complete our breakfast request sheet, that applied all week, unless you messaged the owner, which we did on a couple of occasions.
The breakfast was poor. The Italians have great bread, but we were supplied with very thin small slices of toast and two slices of rye bread. The cornflake portion was minute. I ordered an omelette on the first day which was rolled and no bigger than a large cigar.
There is a small kitchen in the suite (photo attached of sponge and container) - in the COVID climate a new one should have been provided.
The bathroom was very small in the “ Pompeii Suite” and if you want to use the spa bath two hours notice is required. To be fair it is unnecessary. There is one window in the bedroom area and one in the spa room, so very little natural light in the suite. Upon booking that room a free trip to Pompeii appears part of the deal, however this is for one person only, and the cost is 60 euros for the other person. The owner readily provides metro tickets at a reduced rate and the premises are close to two metro stations. When we settled our bill on the last morning, having paid for the room on arrival, the owner asked if we wanted to go to a nearby restaurant for our last night. We asked if we could let him know in thirty minutes. He agreed and my wife messaged him and asked him to book it. However, I suspect because we had not praised his accommodation upon paying the bill, he did not reply, rather strange, as he had always replied promptly when we wanted to purchase metro passes!! He also tried to arrange a trip to the Amalfi coast which we declined and he appeared not to approve or understand that we did not wish to spend 4 hours of a day travelling in a minibus.
I have read other excellent reviews and can only assume their stays have been short, or, they are easily pleased. We have stayed at numerous other properties in Europe and the breakfast provided is without doubt the worse we have experienced.
As the title suggests stay for a couple of days, if you wish, but not a week.
