The six of us (5 adults, 1 infant) checked into 3 rooms at the Smuggler's Cove on a busy Friday night. We were welcomed warmly by the owners who made every effort to make sure we felt at home. They even came out to make sure we had a legal parking place! All 3 rooms were clean, quiet, well-furnished, comfortable, and very well maintained. Just a great little hotel in a great little town.
A couple of nits, which come with the building and its location. At least some of the bathrooms are a bit small, though that comes with the territory in older buildings. The parking is on-street, as Lunenburg was laid out and built up waaaay before cars were conceived. But all that contributes to the town's and hotel's rustic charm. No chain hotel ambiance here!
As a parting personal touch, the owner came out and took our family's picture against the mural on the hotel's outside wall he had commissioned. Lots of interesting, local touches in the painting, done by a local artist over 3-4 months. (He's a good photographer, too; it wasn't just a "snapshot").
Yes, we would highly recommend this hotel; we might even schedule our next visit to Lunenburg around room availability at the Smuggler's Cove.
