The room prices surprised me, finding the lowest quality standard as called a Resort. Always support local Businesses, you just need to realize I work and save one week for one nite Hospitality.
Next trip venture to Jasper more opportunities and equal economical.

The first day we checked in, we saw an elk in the backwood! It's ecstatic for us to see a wildlife animal up close. About the room, we liked the layout of the complementary goods in our room. The mugs were so beautiful I had to buy one at the on-site shop out of many other gorgeous gift items. The bed was comfortable and clean. So was the washroom. We tried the pull-out couch as the second bed and it was quite tricky! But we managed. The room temperature was a bit warm for us. We could have told the office to lower the thermostat, but we chose to open the window instead with no problem. Since this place was half-remote, the on-site restaurant and the included continental breakfast were a bonus for us! You couldn't go wrong with warm greetings from staff every time; a clean, organized, and separate seating section for breakfast-only lodge guests; and a deliciously hot selection of breakfast items to choose from! About the views, there were lots of comments and pictures of the falls and mountains already, I just want to see some flowers because I love flowers. I know I don't expect to see a garden full of blooms in the mountains and lakes area, especially around the time of our visit, but we spot several if not many mountain orchids during our hike there. That's another bonus for us! Overall, in our opinion, the premise may be on a small commercial scale, but it has all the necessities, plus qualities, you would need for your stay. This lodge is worth checking out! We were glad we did!

Thank you so much for all your kind words, we are so glad you enjoyed your experience in the rockies and especially here at Sunwapta! If you do ever stay with us in the future don't hesitate to ask for help at the front desk as that is exactly what we are here for and are more than happy to help, the little things count as we are here to make your trip the best it could possibly be! Again, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay, we enjoyed having you and we hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again in the future!

Pretty expensive in peak season, as the rooms are nothing too special but the location close to the falls is to die for! Also the lodges are so adorable, like separate log cabins with big fire places, and so cozy, like something you would see in the movies! The staff were very friendly, and helpful. This location is pretty far from Jasper townsite though, so just be aware of that when booking. The restaurant is also a bit pricey but the breakfast options were great and the food was good!

We drove the wonderful Icefields Highway from Lake Louise and just as we were getting tired and ready to stop driving we arrived at the Sunwapta Mountain Lodge. Don't expect a luxury hotel-but it's a basic, clean room in a lovely setting. We enjoyed the fireplace in our room. The bed was very comfortable with a cozy comforter. The included breakfast was simple continental selections and adequate. It was a quick walk to the beautiful Sunwapta Falls down the road. It was an easy drive to Jasper.
The staff at the Sunwapta Mountain Lodge was excellent, from the person on the phone in my initial phone call for information to the waitress in the restaurant, the woman running the nice gift shop, the people in the office. We had to cancel our stay here for the last 2 years because of Covid, we're so happy we finally made it there for 2 happy nights.

The best stay in our Canada trip, and it was all thanks to the amazing staff.

The room is great, the restaurant is delicious, but the staff are the nicest people we met here in Canada. Everyone were super helpful and truly interested and dedicated towards making our trip to Jasper unique. Martin, the restaurant's manager, was simply amazing. We asked him about wildlife spotting areas and he took out a map and drew the best wildlife spotting areas on it. We also asked him about the northern lights, and he told us the best night to go see them and where, gave us his tripod and we got to see it!

This place is amazing, stay here to meet awesome people!

We had two nights at Sunwapta Falls lodge as part of a three week road trip around BC and Alberta.
There appear to have been some mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, which is hard to understand.
The lodge is on the Icefields Parkway - in the middle of the park, yes it’s rustic but that’s what I expect in the middle of a National park. We have stayed in many US national park lodges that are equally or more rustic than Sunwapta.
We had a cabin style queen room, which although it didn’t have the porch that some of the other cabins did, had plenty of space to sit out.
The room was plenty big enough, and we loved the fire place. The lodge offer a fire pack for you to collect to use the fire, which was lovely on a chilly September evening.
We are at the lodge both nights, and the food was really good. Plenty of choice, with several specials too.
The included continental breakfast was fine for us, fruit, bagels, toast. There was also an option to buy hot items.
All of the staff here were great, and we would return.
Location is ideal for visiting the glacier, Jasper and all the sights up and down the stunning icefields parkway.
Short walk to Sunwapta Falls too.
