This was my first time visiting a tropical country for vacation and I had an amazing experience at BlueBay. The food service was excellent. I especially enjoyed the restaurants Festival for the buffet style, as well as Mexicano for authentic Mexican food (shoutout to our waiter, Aurelio! He was so kind and helped us pick out the best menu items). Speaking of the waiters, the staff at BlueBay is super friendly and kind… right when we entered the hotel, they held our hands and walked us into the lobby, took care of our luggage, and served us sparkling drinks within seconds. It really felt like a luxurious moment! The staff is so hardworking as well and it really shows. Their dedication to their work, speed and efficiency, and politeness to guests speaks volumes. Our room was also cleaned daily and stocked with soft drinks, coffee, and hygiene products. The resort itself is so big and well maintained, with so many things to explore… the beautiful white sand beach, pools, live entertainment, photography services, gift shops, fauna/nature/animals, kids club, and lots of cute spots to take pictures in. It was rainy season when we visited but they have golf carts to take you around the resort and umbrelllas to use, so it wasn’t bad at all. Overall, I would highly recommend this resort for anyone looking to have a fun and memorable time in Mexico. Extremely satisfied for the affordable vacation price.

Overall Impression:
The hotel is quite large but shows its age with several parts falling apart. It suffers from poor organization, especially during rainy weather when the staff seems unsure of how to manage situations.
Cleanliness:
Our room was relatively clean, but the bathroom had issues. The tub's caulking had mold that couldn't be cleaned by regular staff and needed to be recaulked. Very gross, check the attached pictures.
Comfort:
The bed was comfortable, but we were only provided with two towels, which was not enough. The television didn't work, although the mini bar was well stocked. Unfortunately, the bathroom had a roof leak that caused it to leak every time it rained. Check the attached pictures of our bathroom ceiling. The elevator in building 1 never worked during our entire stay. We attempted to get a golf cart ride to other buildings during the rain but were unsuccessful each time.
Service:
The waiting staff was very nice and professional. We would like to specifically thank Norberto, who always attended to us and had a great sense of humor. However, we were told on our first day by another guest that because we were Mexican, we would likely not receive the same service or treatment as white Europeans. Sadly, this ended up being true. We had to repeat requests to the reception desk staff, who would pass us up to assist white guests. The issues with the hotel seem to stem from poor management rather than the staff themselves, who did their best under the circumstances.
Value for Money:
The hotel does not offer good value for the price.
Food:
The food was average; there are better buffets available at other hotels. The liquor was not premium, so if you're a drinker, don't expect much.
Recommendation:
I HIGHLY would recommend booking elsewhere. Even if it is cheap to book, LOOK ELSEWHERE. By our third day, we were counting the days until we could leave. ESPECIALLY if you're not white, this might not be the hotel for you.
