Just stay away . A very old out dated hotel . Bad from the start , the tower rooms are nice and updated , but be prepared to walk a lot . Main dining room is located at the front of resort , but its almost a 1/4 km walk to beach from main tower and dining room . Food is crap , steamed cauliflower for breakfast ? Really ? Never any food replaced , and always served cold . Nothing for deserts at main room or snack bar , only 3 kinds of lousy cake to choose from . Omletes pretty much half cooked and runny . Just go out to eat or order a pizza in . Or uber eats . The rooms on beach have stellar views , but crappy pixallated tv . Our room had no coffe pot or stocked fridge . 30 min line ups at pool bar and you can take 2 drinks , and a small crappy bar 1/4km away at main lobby . The bar ran out of cups , so thats a 1st , ran out of white wine and bacardi rum . Air cond fried and filled our room with smoke . Took 3 days to get coffee pot and coffee , 5 days to vet a fridge with nothing in it . The couple who came with us had no working ph , coffe pot didnt work after waiting 6 days . Mattress has springs poking through , but changed mattress on 8th day of requesting a foamy twice a day for 6 days . Most staff dont speak very good english , so good luck communicating . Beach front was nice but never really cleaned proper . No beach activities of any kind , VERY lousy wifi . Our room on the beach would be condemmed in Canada , rusted unstable railing on balcony , so dont lean on them . After about 5 days , west jet rep finnally showed up . Didnt care west jet misled us and put us in wrong hotel like 5 other couples also misled . We were sposed to be in krystal grande next door . That was where the website showed us we booked . But westjet wanted more money to fix their mistake . When we booked , it showed krystal grand , but stuck it to us at krytal hotel instead . Our neighbour who also got misled also got stuck there . But glad to have a witness who fell for westjet false advertising as well . Stay away from kids pool . Bottom line just run far far away from this place . Only good thing i have to say is i didnt have to work for 10 days , and weather was hot and sunny . Thanks westjet and krystal hotel for the worst holiday experience we ever had . 1 star is still too high a rating .

I’m wondering if anyone else hasn’t heard back from Sunwing regarding this resort. They will not respond to my complaint about the extremely disappointing experience at the resort.
This hotel was beyond unsanitary and I really feel I should be compensated for this stay.

Our room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the ocean. The a/c was always working good which was a nice amenity for the hot days to get a break from the heat. A few things we did not like was the fact they had absolutely zero entertainment at night. And the food options were very limited….. this resort was in a good spot for being close to the actual city of Puerto Vallarta, so transportation was cheap to get where you needed to go if it was in the city.
