Enjoyed the old fashioned/historic ambience of this classic beach hotel. It was not super fancy and shows her age, but we enjoyed the lovely location, friendly staff and great views. Chabert's restaurant was absolutely great and we also enjoyed the Aztec (good service and food). Great massage at the spa and good price!
Resort treats regular guests better than RCI guests. Very small room, inadequate kitchen, no oven, small double bed, very minimum utensils in kitchen, noisy all hours of the day and night, not even wash clothes in bathroom, very slippery shower with no mat, extremely dissatisfied with room and experience at this resort.
We stayed in the Playas Tower for two weeks, The room has a one foot balcony. There is a patio style sliding door that lets you see and hear the ocean. It's not big enough to put a chair out on the balcony. The room itself could use some updating. Our couch was uncomfortable and actually broke on the first day.
There were many positives about the hotel. Everyone that worked there was polite and helpful. If something needed to be taken care of with the room it was done quickly and correctly. There were four bottles of water each day. There was a mini fridge that came in handy. There was a coffee pot with a new coffee packet each day. The coffee was very weak so I tried to run the coffee through the filter twice.
The bed was comfortable. There was a two burner stove that we never used. There were no utensils so it would have been hard to use anyway.
There was a lot of construction going on. It was hit or miss being able to use the hot tub. The pier is being worked on and was noisy Monday through Friday. I was told that it should be done this summer. That will be really nice.
The room faces the West so we had many beautiful sunsets. The beach was amazing. There was also a playground that made the place family friendly.
We booked several months before our stay and got a great price for our room.
We went to the Azteca restaurant once. We had good service. The margaritas were okay. The squid was quite rubbery but the sauce was delicious.
The hallway leading up to our stairs was not lit which made it unsafe to walk at night. That should get taken care of.
The location was close to many restaurants so that was a positive. I wish there was a grocery store close by.
All said and done, I believe we would stay here again.
Bars next door to hotel; music loud - 12P until 330A weekends! Bed not a king - a double. Had to call service to clean room & unstick balcony door. Porter not helpful. Hotel needs redo. Most staff ok.
Great place to stay and the beach was great! staff was also friendly! They have great tacos right outside. The pool was nice and a great place to walk at night. WE will be back for sure our kids loved it!!!!
