Beautiful rustic luxury accommodation on a stunning beach. Exceptional food and service a credit to Dean and the whole team. Its great so see staff genuinely engaged and happy. One of the best places I have stayed in Sri Lanka. Plenty of activities dolphin/ whale watching, watersports, yoga, massage and bocce or you can just chill in any of the pool or beach pavilions.
We ended our two weeks touring Sri Lanka with a three day stay at Udekki and it was without doubt the highlight of the holiday. We were so well looked after by Dean and his team that we felt nothing was too much trouble. The food, suggested and prepared by Dean and chef, was superb and we were very spoilt as there was only us and one other guest at the hotel during our stay.
The trip to see the dolphins was enormous fun, just sad not to see any whales but a good excuse to return.

We loved Udekki. It is a perfect boutique hotel set on a magic stretch of beach and with oudles of character.
We started in the rooftop loft suite and were then upgraded to a Villa: I am not sure which we preferred, they were both wonderful.
The hotel is managed by Dean, who really cares that we enjoy ourselves. Honestly nothing appears to be too much trouble for him, and he does provide excellent,excellent food. Make sure you have dinner or lunch in the tree house overlooking the beach.
We were on full board but Dean was delighted to cook anything for us, including crab curry and an outstanding tuna tartar. Total generosity for a full board ticket.
We adore the setup in the hotel, particularly the individual dining areas and also the feeling of space around the pool and the beach, with masses of varied places to relax, in sun or shade.
Drinks are good value for money.
The Dolphin watching is not to be missed, and also do the lagoon trip.

The Udekki Resort in Alankuda, Kalpitiya is a wonderful place to stay on the north-east coast of Sri Lanka. With a large pool area, a great selection of food and even and opportunity of receiving real ayurvedic massages this is must visit gem. The staff is very friendly and helpful! A great place to relax and rest. Highly recommended!
Udekki was our first stop in Sri Lanka after 25 hours of travel from the U.S., and we couldn’t have been happier to call it home for four nights. Dean and his staff took care of us wonderfully, anticipating our every need. We were lucky that there were few people at the resort during our stay and we got the whole beach entirely to ourselves! The food in particular was exceptional - the best we had on the island, especially the breakfasts, but also make sure to try their curries (though make sure to tell them in advance - they take a little while to make). As a guest at Udekki we were able to visit two sister resorts down the beach, though I liked ours the best. They also arranged dolphin-watching and Willpatu tours for us. The combination of calm, pampering, and excellent food was the perfect introduction to this beautiful island.
