Lovely stay at edge of the lagoo

Reviewed Jun 25, 2023
We stayed at Opoa beach hotel for a week and had a lovely time! The hotel is charming, quaint and brilliantly located on the lagoon.

Arnould the hotel owner was extremely helpful and accommodating with a room change and also taking into account that I was a vegetarian + did not eat some of the meals at the hotel and gave me a discount for the half board. I really appreciated the service.

Fantastic marine life and the island is green and lush! Most specifically the site of Taptapu’atea is mesmerising. Can’t recommend visiting Opoa beach hotel and Raiatea enough!

We stayed 4 days at this beautiful beach hotel. Everything about it exceeded our expectations from arrival to departure. We were greeted with lays and a cold tea drink followed by a gorgeous cottage overlooking the beach including a hammock on the porch and flowers from the garden on our bed. A healthy French Breakfast and choice of dinner plates were included in the price of the cottage. The amenities were outstanding including the bar and pool. They even had a band with Tahitian dancers one night. They staff was professional and very friendly. Arnold also made arrangements for excursions for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience Tahiti at its best.

Arnaud and Cedric who own and run the resort have this place perfect. 9 beautiful and quirky bungalows are beautifully equipped with everything you need. The food us fabulous and the place as a whole is like a heavenly retreat from the outside world. I would not hesitate in recommending this place to couples who like the simple life in beautiful surroundings.

This beautiful little hotel exceeded all my expectations. From my reservation to departure everything was wonderful. The bungalows are charming, spotlessly clean, mattresses new, linen fresh. The beach bungalows each with spectacular views of the motu and island of Huahine.
Food was top class presented with style and finesse. Nice wine selection lots of choice
Arnaud and his partner perfect hosts and having just taken over the hotel working on creating perfection.
Thank you to all the staff for your welcome and kindness - you are all wonderful ambassadors of your exceptionally beautiful island home Raiatea
        Highly recommended

Local and lovely. This place is quite unique. It’s very remote but that adds to the attraction. The lady who runs the place has limited English (but still better than my very limited French!) but she is very kind and helpful and booked us tours and helped with food choices, even handwriting the menu in English for us. The food is excellent and good value. The villas are authentic and thoughtful. Thoroughly recommend

Room tip: Villas at the front are cooler and the best. We had number 6 at the back, and had to use the air conditioner. Still nice though.

No beach access. Far away from everything (perhaps this is what you want). Food gets repeated/repetitive a lot even over a 3 night stay, example, the only vegetable mix they ever had was a ratatouille mixture, no variation on that, it was served with every entree/meal. Food is pricy. Bungalows don't feel clean or modern, it's very very rustic. The owner, at the time, August 2020, Marie is completely unhinged and incredibly rude, yelled at me when I questioned why a 'tasting' plate for dinner was incredibly costly with small portions, because the waitress who was another psychotic character totally oversold the dish to us and over promised on the food we would be receiving. The owner Marie reminded me why French people can have a reputation for being nasty and rude. Would never recommend staying here. Also I doubt they are sending in the at-home covid tests that guests are required to take.

Thank you for your feedback which helps us improve our customers' experience every day.
indeed, there is no beach in Raiatea.
we have about ten dishes so the accompaniment are vegetables from Fenua. we will do a debrief with the team because "Marie" was not there in October and ensure that your next visit takes place in the best conditions.
finally, be reassured, the covid tests are well deposited by us at the hospital in Uturroa. this is of public interest. we also live thanks to the tourists
