Beautiful resort, clean and well maintained. Professional, friendly and helpful staff. Lovely restaurant overlooking the sea. Had a fabulous time.
However the wifi is intermittent so would recommend you buy local sim at airport Also bring local currency or dollars as they do not accept cards.
The resort was clean and well located. The linens, pillows and towels were clean but not luxurious. The restaurant was good and service was ok but not excellent. Staff was nice and were there if you needed anything. This resort seems more focused on cost savings than making guests feel 'treated' in any way. The pool was nice. The beach is not clean. There were a lot of stray dogs wandering the property and barking at all hours of the night. This is a basic hotel that is a little on the rustic side.
We stayed at the Elysia Beach Resort for 3 nights in early April and really enjoyed our time there! The staff were all super friendly and helpful and the restaurant food is quite good. We loved the Bicol express and smoothies in particular but enjoyed every meal. The beach is lovely and quiet with several shaded lounge areas. Rooms are simple but have comfortable beds and good AC; the outdoor drying racks for wet swimsuits and clothing are a really nice touch.
It is an easy 5ish minute walk to the Whale Shark center, just show up around 7:20am to get on a morning boat. You can rent snorkeling gear right there for around 300 pesos per person. There is not a ton to do locally beyond morning whale shark trips so be ready to relax in the afternoon/evening. We found the firefly tour to be a little bit underwhelming but still worth doing. A trike ride into town for halo halo at Nanay's Cafe made for a nice treat, otherwise we spent most of our time at the resort. FYI - if you need a 24/7 internet connection make sure to get a local SIM card or have your international plan activated since Elysia only has wifi at the restaurant.
The place was easy to reach coming from Iriga City. The resort is small but very clean, the villa or room that we were assigned was very clean,simple and nice we booked 5 rooms and the rooms was very convenient to the pool area.
Restaurant is clean, the staff is very friendly and the beach area is nice. The view is fantastic. Only thing if your going to do the excursions it’s a little bit farther to walk but even the excursions it’s a little bit pricey but it’s worth it.
We did see the butanding.
We only stayed for a night, which felt like a shame, it was an idyllic spot with beautiful sunsets and a nice vibe to the resort. Our holiday was very action packed, with a lot of travel and activities and this was the first place we felt relaxed. Great location for the whale shark diving and a peaceful place to chill afterwards. Restaurant was good and staff friendly, allowing us to check out late (and thus shower after the whale shark swimming).
