Where to eat before 7:00 pm

We're staying in Cordoba for 3 nights next month (giving us 2.5 days to get to know the city). I've done my research on places to visit and we're looking forward to just taking our time wandering the streets as well as visiting the Mezquita, the Alcazar, the Calahorra Tower and Palacio Viana. Alas, I have hit a wall when it comes to targetting nice places to experience Andalucian cuisine - most nice restaurants do not open till 8:00 pm! We're in our 60s and are used to eating quite early to allow for digestion etc before bedtime. In all our travels in Europe we love our post-dinner walks (love the Italian passegiata!) before tucking in for the night. Ideally we have dinner (& drinks) starting at 6:30 pm, walk around afterwards for an hour while indulging on a gelato or pastry, then back to our hotel for a soothing bedtime cuppa. My question is: Are there any good eating venues open early from 6:30 in Cordoba? Would love to hear about tapas bars, taverns and mum-&-dad restaurants. We'll be staying at NH Amistad but happy to check out places within post-dinner walking distance. Thank you so much for any suggestion.

Agree with #1. In Spain I tend to have a late long lunch then maybe a drink and tapa at night combined with a walk.

We gave up going out for meals in the evening as we found it too much and it kept us awake all night. So, now we go out for lunch at around 2pm, have a siesta when we come home, and just a small plate of cheeses, jamón or similar in the late evening.🤗

I also have a good late lunch rather than a full evening meal, when in Spain. Besides anything else, the menu del dia offer tends to be convenient, and economical. Evening time you can then eat more casually. I also look to stay in hotels that provide a good breakfast.

Everybody will have an ideal way of consuming food and drink. When on holiday it may be that your accommodation serves delicious non stop breakfasts. I have to admit to "stoking up" my stomach with one of these breakfasts and not feeling peckish until later in afternoon thereby allowing maximum use of the day for exploration. Of course you can find food at any time of the day in large cities but maybe not the white tablecloth and obsequious waiters kind of joints at 6 in afternoon. The restaurant I linked to in my previous post would seem a great compromise for those wanting food at non (Andalusian) standard times. Bodegas Mezquita Céspedes . Being within a few minutes walk from NH Collection Amistad and clearly hoping to attract tourists who do not want to follow Andalusian eating rules.

Thanks for all your feedback folks! Much appreciated. Shall readjust our expectations on our visit and carry muesli bars to fortify us till we find somewhere to eat. We are not interested in fine dining anyway (and yes Cadiz_lover, we avoid places featuring white-tablecloth, crystal wine glasses and obsequious waiters).
