My family and I had a great meal here. We did get seated 30 minutes after our reserved time and the host and hostess seemed overworked and unpleasant, but happily the waiter was awesome and the great food made up for it. Would definitely return. Blackened salmon special was delicious.

The good: Excellent arancini, excellent Zappa di pesci- highly recommend both Excellent martinis- watermelon infused and grey goose both ice cold, large, well priced Bolognese above average but for homemade pasta, it seemed slightly overcooked, large portion Veal parm average. Very soggy, sauce seemed disproportionate on the tomato paste and could’ve used more seasoning or perhaps sauce reduction. Asked what pastas were fresh, choose ziti, and was not told it was an extra charge. Large portion. The bad: Hostess lacked the refinement of someone in the hospitality industry. This position is so important. I noticed on the way to the restaurant, that the restaurant had called me 9 minutes prior without leaving a message so I called back. She said she wanted to know if we were still coming because she had that our reservation was 7:00. I said, no, our reservation was 7:30 and that we would arrive at 7:30. No apology, no “ok, we’ll see you then. “, just “ok” and a hang up. Upon arrival, I got a pager. At 7:50, I checked in again and was told “You will get the next table.” No time estimate, no apology. At 8:10, I checked in again, she said something about the pager needing new batteries and said my table was ready. Granted that I said I wanted an outdoor table and it’s not guaranteed, I did get my outdoor table but no apology for the delay or an appropriate time for fulfilling the request. She wasn’t extremely unpleasant (like reviews of the owner) but she certainly wouldn’t be considered an asset to the restaurant.

It has become a tradition that, when in York, dinner at Angelina’s is a must. We have always enjoyed the ambience, professional wait staff, and or course the delicious food. Thinking that the restaurant lost a lot of business because of COVID, we were surprised at how crowded the restaurant was. A good sign for business but not for diners. From the moment we were seated, to the taking of orders and then being served, we felt rushed. Hovering servers are appreciated but not when it feels like we were taking too much time. The delicious meal made up for the rushed feeling. As always, the eggplant parmigiana was so good. Never greasy or overly breaded, it was easy to cut with a knife. The tomato sauce did not take away from the dish. My husband had his favorite: scallops. The kitchen should be complimented for the incredible dishes it puts out. We will return next year. Hopefully, we won’t feel rushed.

I ordered chicken Parmesan. After the food was delivered, the waiter came over to ask how it was after a few bites. I asked for more sauce. I tried to eat it, barely got through half the dish. The waiter did not check in again. When the bus boy cleared the dishes, I asked him if I could speak to the server. The server came over, and I told him that the dish tasted terrible, very bitter. Asked if they used canned tomatoes for the sauce, perhaps they were bad. We were offered a free dessert. I asked him to take the dish off the bill. He said he could not do that, so we asked for the owner/manger who was very rude. He said he could not do anything. I told him I’d do a review of his business. He lowered his mask and got in my face. Said if I did not say that, he would have taken it off the bill (after he said that he wouldn’t). Accusing us of wanting a free meal. I have never been treated this way before in a restaurant. It was our second time there this week. First visit was great. The people next to us expressed their amazement at the way we were treated. Commented on the owner removing his mask, and how rudely we were spoken to. We believe in supporting businesses during this time. The owner was upset that I was speaking to them. They witnessed the whole incident, and reached out to me. Due to the owner’s reaction and the way we were treated, and what we were accused of, we did not leave a tip. I told the owner I felt that I was being bullied. There was a total lack of customer service. The funny thing is that if we were treated nicely, I would not be writing this review.

THIS PERSON IS CRAZY, SHE SIGNED UP FOR TRIPADVISOR AGAIN, CHECK OUT THE NAME, TO WRITE US A BAD REVIEW. SEE THE REVIEW UNDER THIS ONE, ITS THE SAME PERSON. I AM REPORTING THIS TO TA. I will respond the same way as I did below. She was looking for a free meal, after she ate all of the chicken parmesan but 2 bites. She NEVER TIPPED the server either. YOU ARE A CHEAP BULLY WHO DID NOT GET HER WAY. You Miss are a bully! You were checked on and asked if dinner was good. You told the server the food was good. You left 2 bites of a chicken Parmesan left, our chicken Parmesan is huge. We said you should of told us right away you didn’t like it and we would have cooked you something new right away. We offered you a desert, since you ATE THE ENTIRE dish but 2 bites. You wanted a manager, I came over you said and I’ll quote you “you want it off the check, if not that’s what TripAdvisor for”. Now here we are. As for the other table, they were in total support of us after you left. They said you made them feel very uncomfortable voicing to them your situation., they thought you were crazy for even involving them. They never waited 45 mins past the reservation time, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS Oh and they NEVER TIPPED THE SERVER EITHER, just goes to show you they were trying to get food for free. How was this the servers fault

Went to Angelina’s last night with my husband and two young adult children. A party near us was complaining early into our visit, and my kids were horrified. Unfortunately, the nearby party had it right. I ordered a Mediterranean salad, and it was disappointing before I had even tasted it. It was basically a plate of somewhat brown lettuce, many pieces way too big to even fit on a fork, with two grape tomatoes, two olives, and a pile of onions. Per the description on the menu, it was supposed to come with feta cheese, but it had Gorgonzola on top instead. When I mentioned it to the waitress and asked if it was supposed to have feta cheese, she told me “no“. I responded that I was pretty certain that the Mediterranean was to come with feta cheese, she told me that I was wrong but offered to bring me some… So I had a lame salad with both Gorgonzola and a side of feta. When I asked a nearby manager about it, he affirmed that it should have come with feta and offered to get me the correct cheese (which was on the way. I was completely surprised that no one took the initiative to replace the salad and actually correct it. Rather than make a scene, I gave up. The rest of the meal wasn’t much better. It was passable, but did not live up to the positive reviews I had read. Service was in attentive and food was uninspired. No one stopped by to ask how food was after it was delivered, no one asked if I would like a second glass of wine, no one really seemed to care too much about providing quality food and quality service. The prosciutto and mozzarella board and the lobster bisque were pretty tasty but the pasta dishes (keep in mind this is an Italian restaurant) were subpar. I would not recommend it. To their credit, I believe if I had made a stink, they would have addressed our issues. They did promptly address the complaints of the party nearby. However, we were on vacation, trying to be lighthearted, and it seems a shame that the only way to get good service and food at this restaurant is to send things back and complain.

Shannon, Thank you for visiting us on Monday Night. I'm really worried about your kids, they were horrified because the table next to you sent back a pasta dish because it had too much garlic in it, really horrified??? Yes, the human being in the kitchen put the wrong cheese on your salad, the server NEVER told you that was the correct cheese, and you we said we would bring you a new salad and YOU said to just bring the correct cheese. I am sorry you had to "give up", it must have been such hard work explaining to us that the salad cook put the wrong cheese on your plate. Its not about making a "stink" its about addressing what you did not like, I personally checked on you and EVERYONE ATE EVERYTHING, so how were we to know you were not happy? We have lots of great reviews praising our food and our service. I am sorry that we didn't impress you with either, however looking at the 8 reviews you have written, 5 out of the 8 you were not happy with those establishments either.

Food is good but pricey owner talks down to his staff in front of customers. Owner does not appreciate loyal customers. he can be downright rude. He Should not be in the front of the house. His talents are best served in the kitchen. There are too many other really good restaurants in the area where food is good and you are treated well!

Bonnie, First off if you are such a “loyal” customer, why have you never written us a glowing review before? If the food is “pricey” why would you keep coming back? I find it pathetic that you would sign up for TripAdvisor NOW to write a poor review about me. Who are you to decide where i should work in my restaurant. You should have also written about your bad behavior and what led you to taking the time to join TA and write this review. For the record, my staff are treated exceptionally well. They have been with me for YEARS.

Planned a special birthday dinner after reading so many excellent reviews. Made reservation 2 weeks in advance. Arrived on time to find the restaurant totally jammed. Was told that our table would be ready shortly. Waited 45 minutes to be seated! So basically making a reservation didn't matter. 10-15 min wait would have been understandable. Service was fair and polite but extremely slow. We do understand the Covid impact here. Food was average at best on this night. No doubt the kitchen was weeded due to the overbooking. Home made pasta was cooked perfectly but we found the sauces (not red) to be on the dry side and/or broken. For the premium prices of the dishes this is a big negative. We know that restaurants may have an off night. This was certainly one of them. We enjoyed some nice wine and made the best of it. Will return at some point to try the red sauce and give it another shot. Biggest negative was very poor reservation management. No Covid excuse for this just poor management. You know your staffing situation so please plan accordingly. Overbooking only aggravates an already challenging situation.

Our party of 4 ( all in 70’s) were verbally abused by the owner who has obvious issues. Returned chicken Parmesan that had blackened cheese on top. New cheese put on but dried out chicken out chicken not replaced. Had a few bites but was unable to eat it. When requested it to be taken off our bill the owner screamed in front of other patrons “she ate her meal and now complains”. When I tried ( without success) to explain I had not eaten it he yelled “ you are all morons”. Followed us out of the restaurant and continued to yell. What a disturbed man! I see now from reading other reviews that this is not unusual behavior for him. So sad! He is lucky that most customers are vacationers because return customers would be scant otherwise.

The wntire staff worked very hard to safely serve us. They sis so seemleasly following atate aafety guidelines. The food was amazing. Chicken dish was excelent and those in our party that got fish said it was so fresh and the portions were huge. Thanks for helping us celebrate a friend's bday during the pandemic. We will return.

On vaction in Maine and lobstered out. We were looking for a nice Italian Restaurant, not the typical Spaghetti Houses or tourist traps. Saw great reviews on Angelina's and decided to take a shot. I called for a reservation and we were promptly seated upon arrival. Due to the pandemic, we dined outside and it was actually pleasurable. Our server was an extremely personable young lady who actually knew the menu. We began with Arancini. A little pricey at 11.95 for two, but that went away with the first bite. Creamy, tasty, hot, perfectly fried. Good start. Owner noticed there was no bread on the table and promptly brought us over rolls with a great blend of evoo, parmesan cheese and garlic. The first entree was haddock over linguini, tossed in grape tomatoes, capers, lemon, almost like a primavera. My first judgment on food...should be served HOT! No problem here. The fish was tasty, fresh, without overdoing the ingredients. My dish was a standard Veal Parmigiano. Two perfectly breaded cutlets, real veal, proper amount of browned Mozzarella over a good fettucine. The sauce was a little dark for my liking, but I find that sauce is very subjective. Service and food made for a lovely meal. Highly recommend.

Had 5:00 reservation. Celebrating my friends first day of retirement! We were looking forward to a tasty, relaxing soup to nuts meal. However, while we were still eating our entrees the hostess, Jaime, came over to tell us we needed to leave. According to her we had over stayed their allotted dining time! WHAT??!!! Shortly thereafter, our server, Kevin came over with the dessert menu and we let him know we were asked to leave so we wouldn't be having any dessert. He was genuinely astonished/embarrassed. He and another server, Carly, asked us to please stay and finish our meal. We couldnt. We were too stunned to stay. The food was delicious, the servers were fantastic BUT the front of the house is rude and unprofessional.

Went back this week to try it again after an average first time experience a year ago. I was hoping maybe the first time was a fluke. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. The place is awful. If you like lots of bread, you should consider ordering the chicken parmigiana. Lots of bread, little chicken. Make sure you order it to be cooked, apparently they like to serve the food cold. Meatballs tasted like baseballs in sauce. I understand we are in a pandemic but life is hard enough, and is it too much to ask for one good meal and service??? I finally get the nerve to eat out after 6 months quarantined and I get this junk. I guess I’ll go back to ordering in with delivery from dominos. At least I get quality!

My husband and I were at Angelina’s last night and I have to say it was the best experience as always. The walk to the entrance was lined with beautiful plants and flowers. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table that was set perfectly and also had beautiful flowers. The great music was set at just the right volume to enjoy. The food and drink never disappoints, it is always made with such skill and pride. And the front of the house staff I can’t say enough about. They are the hardest working group of people. I don’t understand how anyone could not appreciate them. They are very attentive to every guests need. And do this with a great attitude (even with having a sweaty face under there mask they have trouble breathing in to protect you) If you just sat back and watched them you would see them all moving very quickly through the restaurant to make sure each and every guest is taken care of and they do it with pride in the job and to give us a great experience. They do all this plus make it a safe place for all of us to be. If you can’t respect that or just can’t be a nice person maybe you should just stay home. This is the time to have patience and respect for each other. Angelina’s is not just another place to have a meal it is a place to take a breathe sit back and enjoy your company while having great drinks and food in the great atmosphere set for us.

We made a reservation for 5:15 pm and had a leisurely dinner until 7:45 pm on a Friday evening. Nobody rushed us. But by 6:15 pm the place was "jumping" and cars were circling the parking lot trying to find a spot. Fortunately we listened to the person who told us to come early. The menu is extensive, the food is well prepared and high quality, and the vegetables were nice and fresh. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable and service is excellent. Our waiter Charles was personable and professional. No wonder the place attracts crowds. Plus there is an extensive wine list, though at the same time the place is very kid friendly. One of the better Italian restaurants we have been too. But in the summer you need to come early to beat the crowds and get easy parking.

Been a while since I have eaten here. Haven't been eating out much with the Covid going on. Went with another couple with the intent of eating in the outside tent, but were offered the option to dine in the new dining room where the temporary tent used to be. What a good decision. The new room is large and airy and has substantial barriers between tables. It was very comfortable. On to the food. It was, as usual, soooooo good. I had the veal scallopini and my wife had a chicken dish with ziti. the food was well seasoned and prepared. As usual, service was great. As winter closes in this is definitely a place to go and feel you can dine safely.
