Arrived late in the evening to Old Montreal. The area around the Basilica was packed with tourists but we were determined to try the Wolf and Workman. Upon arrival we were informed of a 30 to 40 min wait but decided to stay the course and quickly were able to order drinks on their street-side patio while waiting. Within less than 30 min a table on the terrace was made available and service was impeccable. From being seated to served took less than 20 mins and the food was incredible. Tried Tikki Masala chicken (nice bite), Poulet Parmesean and our daughter had the burger. All to rave reviews. Very cool atmosphere and the courtyard was so lovely!

We were welcomed by staff without a reservation on a busy Saturday afternoon. They got us a fabulous seat in the back corner and we're attentive and friendly. The draft and bottomless mimosas were never delayed, the food came out piping hot and delicious. All of the staff, including servers at other tables were constantly helping each other, checking on us and offering refills. A wonderful experience I highly recommend. The brunch shashuska and scotch egg were some of the best!

Came here for breakfast on Sunday. It’s a beautiful space. Good thing we reserved a table in outdoor patio for it soon got crowded around 1130. Service was great. Of the breakfasts: the Yank and the Shakshouka were satisfying; the standout was the Tartine. After two rainy days we were eager to explore old port nearby on a bright sunny day after a nice breakfast.

I think I had one of those nights where I just made all the wrong choices and ended up having a less-than-stellar experience. The staff were lovely, told me to sit where I liked. Both the bar and the dining room were empty, so I chose the dining room, thinking it would fill up with people (it never did, I sat alone in the cavernous room for the entire meal). I ordered a martini with olives, and the server said they were out of olives. A few minutes later she came back and announced they had just gotten olives in. So I ordered a $15 martini and it came with the olives, but also with the glass just 2/3 full. I debated between the chicken pot pie and the roast pork. The server strongly recommended the pork, saying it was melt in your mouth tender and the cauliflower purée was “to die for.” In actuality the pork was quite tough, and seemed frighteningly undercooked in parts. And the cauliflower purée was barely a drizzle on the plate, more of a garnish than the side dish I expected. When I left I noticed the bar area had filled up, and seemed like a lively and fun place to be. I chalk the whole experience up to it not being my night (nor the restaurant’s!).

A nice English style pub hidden behind Notre Dame. Nothing fancy, just good food.I had a burger (well done by law). and my wife enjoyed a "bitter"salad. We were the about 2 PM and got the last indoor patio table. A nice relaxing area. Service was prompt but it took about 30 min to get our meals (for which they comped the wine). The burger was juicy even though well done. Salad was large enough to take back to the room and have for breakfast.

Welcoming bar and restaurant in Montreal Old Town. Friendly staff are more than happy to provide samples of the draft beers to ensure you make the right choice. Local IPA’s are supported by a cast of Gin, Whiskey and spirits from around the globe. We only sampled sharing plates which were fresh and very good quality. The venue has 4 distinct areas with the bar the most vibrant, in addition to the restaurant, rear garden / conservatory and kerbside terrace. Bar staff are engaging and happy to make recommendations. Special mention to Lucy who creates exceptional cocktails and makes you feel like a regular within 5 minutes of chatting to her - just the person you want to represent front of house! Take a break from Old Town sightseeing and shopping to relax in this old school genuine watering hole.

One of the best if not the BEST pub bistro in Old Mtl because it’s relaxing with a British atmosphere. Food is really good from fries to chicken to marinated turnip. Servers keep an eye on you to make sure they serve you properly. Love that place it’s the real thing. Cool people go there after work.

Rats!!! Told the waitress, response it is old city. The rat was right at the table. They did reseat us. Doors are open to kitchen and main restaurant Food came. One third of pork chop pure fat. The waitress asked if the meal was good looking at the amount of unfinished portion of meat. I told her about the fat. She said "the pig must be fat.".

Used to be one of our favorites when staying in Old Montréal…. Needless to say we won’t go back. Lamb pie did not have enough lamb, puff pastry undercooked, Gnocchi with Oxtail was uneventful. Server asked if we are still “working on it”… Desserts not offered. We asked and were told what the three desserts were… then the credit card machine was presented at the table? This place needs management….no server name on the check but he should have been monitored… cocktails outstanding. Food and service a let down… We used to love it! Too many other choices in Montréal for future visits.

A great pub with fantastic food, a cozy atmosphere and very nice service. We were there on a Saturday night for dinner and liked it so much we went back on a Monday afternoon or lunch. Highly recommend the fisherman’s pie and the lamb pie.

This is a hopping pace and if you want to visit at a peak time, it is best to have a reservation. We were early, 5:00-ish and were offered a table, but asked to be done by 6:15 as there was a prior reservation. We took it. I had the Mezze Plate which makes for a great lunch or light dinner. Others had Chicken Pot Pie (good) dinner salad (good), Salmon Gravllox (good but very small, so she asked for additional bread).. This is a lovely place not far from the Cathedral and worth a stop.

The heat wave was unbearable. We sat down and immediately ordered the Ninja Turtle cocktails. With a bit of rum, a dash of Cointreau, lime and cucumber, it was a nice, refreshing drink. It was actually too hot to eat much, so we didn’t try any entrees. We ordered the bangers and mash, and the cavatelli carbonara with Italian sausage and pancetta. The bangers & mash was a pretty good dish, with generous portions. The pasta dish could have used a little more sauce, as it was on the dry side. We sat outdoors in the back – we thought it would be refreshing to sit under the ceiling mounted fans, but it was stifling hot due to a lack of ventilation. Very pretty terrasse, but too hot! Bottom line - The food was not perfect but the setting and the friendly service made it a pleasant experience.

We tried to go the L’Original but they were having a private event. We asked them for a recommendation in the neighborhood and they sent us to Wolf and Workman. It’s a gastropub I’d say. It was a Sunday evening and the place was very lively. We had a short wait for a table and had a pleasant attentive waitress. Food was solid and delivered in a good amount of time. It was a decent value also. They have a nice beer selection. Salad Amere was quite good so was the gravlax and the trout entree was very tasty.

Popular pub and night spot for locals. Pretty outside terrace but tables crammed to maximize use. Perfunctory service. Size of Chicken Pot Pie would challenge any professionally competitive diner. Steelhead trout deliciously and meticulously prepared. Limited by-the-glass wine selection, cellar extensive.

On my last night in Montreal, I stopped into this resto mainly because it was pouring out, to be honest. But I am really glad I did. Despite being a fairly large Old Montreal restaurant, it's divided up well and has a terrific, warm, pub feel. I sat at the bar and the bartender and servers working behind and around the bar were all super friendly. I like servers who can read whether someone wants to be left alone or doesn't mind a little chatter. I'm the latter. (Though I try to read whether the server has time for a little chatter, too!) I had a SUPERB burger and some spectacular twice-fried french fries. All at a really good price (for a touristy stretch in Old Montreal!)
