Winnipeg, Canada
We had to pull off #1 Hwy due to it being closed due to icy condition. Virden being such a small location we were rather concerned as to the accommodations we would fine. We stopped at the Co-Op gas bar and a young man working there recommended Jays Inn to us saying it was a very nice place. Going into the lobby (which was very clean and comfy feeling) we were greeted by a lovely and friendly lady at the front desk. She checked us in and we went to our room. Well when we opened the door to our room we were very pleasantly surprised to find a large room with 2 beds, nice table with 2 comfy chairs, long dresser, fridge, microwave and nicely appointed bathroom with a very large counter . It was a plus plus for us and being so comfortable turned our disappointment of needing to stop our travel to Winnipeg in a positive way. We enjoyed our night so much the next day even though the hwy was open again we felt we would stay another night just to make sure the hwy would be that much safer. If we weren't comfortable at Jays Inn we most certainly would have head out towards Winnipeg the next day.
All the staff we meet were very friendly and helpful. Wonderful place to stay. Our only complaint is the toilet is so low we found it very hard getting down on it and up from it.

Best little hidden gem, we found on our way to winnipeg, staff are polite & professional. Rooms are clean, and reasonably priced. Shout out to Tori,(I think that was the name of the night staff) perfectly located next door to a Tim Hortons 👍

Our stay was excellent. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, the rate was great and the room was so comfy. Good bed and nice couch for relaxing. The windows open, which I always appreciate and everything was very clean. Great breakfast too - lots of options.

My experience at this establishment was so wonderful. I was there because a family member was in the hospital.
They went above & beyond, to make my stay comfortable. This place is extremely clean & well taken care of.
The staff is very friendly & caring.
I recommend this motel to everyone!! ❤️

My husband and I had booked a room with this hotel for a couple of nights and will never stay here again after the substandard level of cleanliness this hotel has and rude/untrained front desk clerks. The entrance and hallway appearance is outdated, yet tidy. The rooms disgusting. Upon entering our room I found a pair of dirty men's underwear in the middle of the room. Huge brown mud/dirty stains by the door. Hair in the bathroom sink. and a men's shirt by the coffee table. So I head down to the front desk to ask them if our room had been cleaned. The response from the front desk was very sarcastic "well, of course it has been , duh" . I then gave the clerk the clothes. The clerk then responded with " I don't have another room to give you" I then quickly told them I didn't want to stay here anymore, anyways. I quickly checked us out, to which i was told I was still going to be charged for the room, I didn't really care after my whole altercation with the front desk staff and we headed to Brandon where I knew if nothing else there would be clean rooms

we stayed on a Sunday night for both business and pleasure. The room was very nice, clean, we had two queen beds that were very comfortable. The out door hot tub really impressed me. It was a perfect end to a long day.

Great accommodation clean friendly I would advise to anyone. This lovely place is pet friendly and the service from the beginning to the end of my stay was exceptional. I'm traveling across Canada and have spent many nights in hotels I can honestly say this rates in the top 2.

We booked a two night stay july13-14, 2012. I called ahead to leave them know that we would be a very late arrival on Friday. We arrived at the hotel before 12:30 a.m. No one was around. We checked hallways, bathrooms and outside sitting area-totally deserted. We knocked on counters and called out for assistance-nothing. Told my husband to use his cell to call hotel phone. Did this at least 6 times where the phone would ring for so long and disconnect. Finally a fellow came out- he obviously had been sleeping-his shirt wasn't totally buttoned up-I guess he was in a guest room. I asked him if this was standard policy to have a deserted front desk. Didn't apologize and claimed they never have problems. Took almost an hour from arrival until we got into our room. Really???
