for only 1 hour drive, it was a very pleasant experience. stoney and sea shell beaches, birdwatching etc. Not sure how much there is to do, as we only stayed the one night. bathrooms were clean and nearby. decent views.

So far I've haven't been disappointed with any of Provincial parks camping.

But I must say this Rock Point is my least favorite.

Pos:
Not so busy, not even on July long weekend
Beautiful nature

Cons:
Shower facilities were okay
Sites were not as private
Beach was okay

We went here to have one last camping trip before the end of summer. We had an amazing time. The weather was warmer then expected so the girls spent some time swimming and fishing for minnows. We enjoyed the amazing sunset on the beach. It was quiet due to the time of year. Our camp site had a trail that lead down to the beach. Would recommend

We were there for three night. It was very long for camping site like Rock point. The beach is very rocky and you can find death fish everywhere. Beach is not at all enjoyable. Park is old. There is no complete washroom at group site. Park rangers are always there to give you traffic / parking ticket.
There are so many other good camping available in Ontario. I strongly not recommend Rock Point for Camping.

I will NEVER goto Rock Point again. Terrible beach and very mediocre campsites at best. No nice scenery. The worst part were the park wardens who seem to think its their mission to inflict pain on the campers. Seriously they lay in wait and radio each other for the slightest infraction. WOW never again.

Great beach with sand and limestone. Our campsite was clean, grassy and private. Nicely surprised with the clean bathrooms and showers. Not too far from amenities outside the park if needed, will definitely be returning soon!

This was the one Canadian campground we stayed at during our tour of New England and Upstate New York. So, I will compare it to the state parks and U.S. national park campgrounds we are familiar with.

The first thing you will notice is the price is higher (nearly double) from stateside public campgrounds. The second is that the roads are rough and muddy (we were there after some significant rainfall). The beaches were not nearly as bad as other TripAdvisor's reviews. However, it is a Great Lake, so we weren't going swimming. We were a bit disappointed we had to drive a considerable distance down to a forgotten portion of the park to use the dog friendly beach. Other than our observation that folks from Ontario are up-and-noisy much later than just south of the border campers, our complaints stop there.

The one bathroom/shower facility is by far one of the best we have had while camping. You won't likely have a site directly on the lake, but you may hear the waves and feel the breeze. The staff was very friendly and they were open pretty late (10:00 pm). I wouldn't make this park a destination in itself, but a good place to to camp for a night or two journeying to the Niagara Falls area.

Lots of forest and great paths, easy access to beach. Facilities all upgraded and clean. Love the new store. Bring a bike lots of places to ride. The sites on the lookout area are really nice and beach was great!

Not the best for children. Swimming alert, ecoli, pebbly beach. But we had a great sight. Close to showers, water, loved waking up to the sound of waves. I saw reviews about dead fish, bu5 just so everyone knows...we saw an employee driving on the beach picking up garbage including dead fish, great job. Cheap store, grilled cheese $2, great coffee $1.50...beats Tim’s prices. Path is a bit thorny.

Got only 2 small mosquito bites! Amazing --- considering the fact that I was chased by mosquitos wherever I went, North America, Central America, Asia...Restrooms are very clean. No lineups for the shower. The rocky beach was challenging for young kids but we knew that before going so everyone was prepared. Cellphone signal is very poor there which has guranteed a good camping weekend without looking at our devices. :)
