The hotel staff were really friendly, it didn't seem like there were many visitors but we stayed on a weekday. Air conditioned rooms, large TV and a king bed (though it was very low to the ground, still comfy). Bathroom was a little dated with a small shower that leaked through the unsealed door but it was clean. Plenty of parking and close to the beach (5 min drive). The hotel was comfortable but felt it was a bit over priced for the room size/amenities.

A one night stay for one in a clean, decent sized room. Comfortable bed with good, although small pillows. Nice fluffy towels and a shower with lots of heat and pressure. All rooms are on a second level with no elevator and although the site says they offer help bringing luggage up I think it would make guests more comfortable if they actually “offered” it instead of waiting to be asked. There is a lounge area with 2 couches and an electric fireplace that should be eliminated or replaced. Definitely not inviting with worn out couches, seats covered in equally worn out blankets and broken ice machine Again, a heads up might have been nice especially with a restaurant attached that I possibly could have got ice had I realized. The room was nice and clean but the hallway could use attention. Check in was friendly. Overall, it was fine. Not very expensive and pretty much as presented on line I would stay here again

The hotel is new, very clean and the beds were comfortable.
Reservations at another hotel were mixed up and this hotel was highly recommended.
A group of 7 were in Grand Bend to participate in MS Bike Ride - charity fund raiser for 1 night.
Mgmt booked 2 rooms knowing there would be 3-4 adults in each room then charged extra $100 /person at time of check in. Hotel staff explained extra kids are $20 each but they did not have a rate for extra adults. The additional fee were not advised at time of booking.
The mgmt was willing to book the room for the extra adults and for 1 night stay but then took advantage of the situation.
When asked if there was anywhere to sit outside on a beautiful evening we were directed to a single park bench against the wall - the picnic tables out front are reserved for pizza customers. Desk staff may have been having a bad day but they were not very friendly. An outdoor sitting area for the hotel is needed.

This hotel is in no way a 2 star hotel. I’m a travel agent and have stayed at lots of hotels. Amber Hotel is a clean, modern, affordable and friendly hotel. The staff always went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasurable. Will definitely come back.

Lovely hotel. Great owners. Very Accommodating. Clean and tidy. 15 minute relaxing walk to the main beach walking past all the local down town stores and food joints.

Pizza Delight is below and their Italian food is good. No Frills Grocery right across.

My daughter and her friends stayed there over the long weekend. They were stalked and harassed by the owner. They did not break any rules, yet they were told they were going to have to leave at 2:00a.m. When they explained they had no where to go, they were told "Go sleep on the street for all I care". The owner continued to harass them all weekend long. He pounded on the door twice. Once to wake them up, and another time to tell them that they couldn't use the face clothes to wash their faces. When I called to try to remedy the situation as it became a safety concern at 2:00a.m., my calls were not returned. I cannot stress enough that my daughter and her friends did not break a single rule. They were not being loud, disorderly or in violation of any hotel policies. This man was literally keeping tabs on their whereabouts and was inappropriately obsessed with them. This is not a family friendly location as he was extremely rude, unprofessional, and put these young ladies in a very potentially dangerous situation.

I would not recommend anyone stay in this hotel, although the bed was very comfortable and the room was nice. The customer service is appalling. Upon check out - the guy who is supposed to be the forefront of the hotel informed me that head office were not happy with the make up on the towels and my card will be charged 50 dollar per towel. I asked him to come into the room and check the towels and they were perfect but he produced some pictures with make up on them from day before which he claims were mine. When I was speaking, he would laugh or speak over me, I couldn't even finish my sentence and he would respond with "I Understand" -He would not listen to understand. The rudest individual I have ever come across. It baffles me how some one with such a personality is in a job offering hospitality. Ironic really. I would not recommend anyone stay here as they are trying to steal money from customer cards by making up lies. I have stayed in numerous hotels all around the world and by far this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Very disappointed customer
