Detailed Reviews
We arrived after it had been raining for a few days so the sites were a bit damp. However the park management's friendliness and advice more than made up for this. The park is reasonably priced, close to town (walking distance) and has very nice free showers. It also has free used books. We were advised to do a tour of the museum and this is very important in order to understand and appreciate the town. We were also advised to visit Toastworks restaurant for coffee and scones. It is a great place full of antique toasters and with great food. Across the street is another bakery also with good food and excellent bread. We were also advised to stop in at the Bluebird co-op craft tiny house wagon on the Main Street across from the park. Very lovely gem trinkets. All in all, Stewart turned out to be a very interesting place to visit and the people very friendly.

I came in late, the was a sign to pick a spot and regester in the morning. The owners came by to make sure everything waa going well and tell us where the firewood is. Great spot so close to the little town. Everything is in walking distance.

My family and I spent a few weeks here in June and loved the beauty of the overall camping area and the sites were just right for most types of camping. The kids enjoyed exploring and our dog loved the walks we took him on through the park itself. V. decent toilet block for showers and flush toilets. Clean and well-maintained throughout. Powered and non-powered sites for tents, RVs and very quiet guests the whole time we were there. Highly recommended. Thanks to Rob and Mary.

We initially were just going to stay for a night or two, but this park and the area are beautiful, and we stayed for a week. The park is nestled in-between two mountains, and spectacular scenery. The couple managing the park, Rob and Mary, are VERY accomodating. The only reason this park didn't get a 5 star, is the main washroom building needs a little attention. It needs to get better ventilation in the washrooms, as there is mold growing on the ceiling. Not a good thing to breathe. Overall, the park is a little gem.

My two kids and I camped last week at site No. 40 and we had a great night. The town of Stewart is a gem. Same for the road to get there (BC 37A). We had a beer at the King Edward Hotel and had fun chatting with John, the hotel manager and Georgia, the bartender. In the morning, we had a fabulous breakfast at the Temptations Bakery. The girls are so nice. We met two French-Canadians and had a great talk, because we are also French-Canadians. We then walked to the border and took some nice pictures. Same thing at the Bear Glacier along BC 37A. My son loves railroads and we spent some time on the tracks. Thanks Mary for your hospitality at the campground. Mary and her husband have traveled so much and it was fun to learn a bit more. The campground is super clean. The bathrooms were one of the best I have ever seen. The cedar wood work is amazing. All done by Mary's husband I learned. What a great experience! Marie-Eve (live in Vancouver), Mathieu (live in Red Lake, ON) and Christian (live in Ottawa).

Quiet (and wet!) campground at the end of town. Downtown is walkable (and worth the visit!) and cell service is pretty good. Limited services (we had 15 amp only) but does have showers. Very green and forested. You feel secluded. Friendly staff. Rustic.

Came to Rainey Creek with some friends and family and had an excellent weekend. The people who manage the campground were kind and welcoming. The bathrooms were in excellent condition. The campsite is right down town and has an amazing view of the mountains!

Quiet, friendly, hot showers, clean. I would stay here again and recommend to others. Close to bear viewing end of July when Salmon arrive, 10 minutes to Hyder, 1 hour to Salmon glacier with spectacular views and dusty road.

Staff was very inviting and friendly. Facilities were clean. Great place to park RV or tent with wonderful scenery and the base of the mountain. The cave/avalanche area wells especially interesting. Amazing what kind of damage snow can do!!

I imagine with the salmon running now that there is definitely a risk of bears. In any case, it’s Alaska. There’s always a risk of bears. Tents should be fine as long as you never store food or anything fragrant in the tent. If a truck camper is an option, I would choose that. Keep bear spray handy in any case.
