Having read some reviews about how the hotel is a bit far from everything, we quickly learnt that the quickest and cheapest way to get around is using the subway. I personally wouldn't recommend using the water taxi as I found it very expensive ($15 pp each way) especially when I paid $22.50 for a weeks subway pass. The hotel itself is lovely, clean and if you get a harbourside view, you're going to get gorgeous views of the Boston skyline. The rooms were a good size with comfy beds. All the staff we spoke to were super helpful, giving us recommendations on what to do and how to get places. On the 15th floor, I didn't hear any noise from the airport or the boats in the harbour. The loudest thing we heard was the people in the room next door. Being close to the airport meant I felt I didn't have to rush back to the hotel so I could get to the airport on time which was nice.

I stayed here at the end of July while hotels were trying to reopen from the Covid19 pandemic. Due to poor research on my part, I thought that I was going to be in a different part of town by the water and I was initially disappointed at the location. This is because I'm a pedestrian and used to leaving a hotel and exploring on foot. However, during this stay the temps were into the 90s with high humidity and there was little within walking distance. By the end of the day, however, my opinion of the hotel had improved significantly. This is in large part because of the exceptional level of service from the staff beginning with Zack at the front desk who always has a friendly greeting and asks as to my needs, on to the restaurant staff at Harborside Grille who pleasantly look to make the dining experience as pleasurable as possible and on to various cleaning and maintenance staff who all had a cheerful greeting and offered to assist if it appeared that I might need it. I came to feel that "no" is rarely spoken here because whatever I asked for was taken care of.
My room was spotless and comfortable. The shade blocked all light and I slept like a baby. The tv is very large and I didn't hear any sounds from nearby rooms.
Back to my disappointment at the location; I found out that a bus stops right at the hotel, they also offer their own shuttle and there is a water shuttle service to downtown Boston just outside the door. Now I have to mention the view. I booked a harbor view room and I highly recommend it to anyone who values a terrific view. The harbor itself is beautiful with all of the boating activity, but the star of the show is the sometimes spectacular sunsets. A lot of guests would sit outside every night just to watch the sunset.
I would happily return here again.

A fine option if or when you wish to stay close to Logan Airport and not looking to go outside into the city of Boston. You can find other options in downtown just as good if you are looking to do some sightseeing or looking for a stroll around the great city of Boston.

I enjoy this Hyatt for the location, it's right on the
Boston Harbor which offers fantastic views if you pick the right room facing it.

The Hotel is modern, they offer a free airport shuttle service that starts at 4am and runs every 15-20 minutes. Service here is very good, they gave me a free upgrade with a flawless view of the Harbor.

Far as the cons, its a bit on the pricey side, but you're paying for convenience, an Uber into the city will cost you around $20. Room are upscale but don't come equipped with a fridge or microwave (though they offer one in the lobby for guests).

Overall, it's a nice stay for a quick trip to Beantown

Hyatt is by far my favorite hotel brand and that is why I was so shocked and disappointed with the customer service we received at this location. I have never had anything but excellent service at the many Hyatt hotels I have visited,

The airport shuttle drivers were very friendly and helpful. Call the hotel when you arrive for the shuttle. The hotel is located right at the airport on the other side of the harbor from the city. We were charged an airport fee for every Uber ride we took, you also have to go through a tunnel to get to the city and there is an Uber charge for that. Uber XL prices range from $18-27 for us.

My initial front desk experience was very disappointing. We asked to split the bill and everything went downhill from there. We later found out from a much friendlier front desk agent that it had to be done at check out, but we were told at check in that it could not be done, and I knew that wasn't true.
I had also requested the lowest floor possible in advance because I am claustrophobic and do not like elevators, but I was put on the 5th floor. When I asked about stairs, I was told there weren't any. When I said that I knew there were stairs for emergencies, I was told I was not allowed to use them. On our last night there, I saw a couple using the door to the stairs and asked them about it, and they said they were allowed to use the stairs because they were claustrophobic. After these couple of exchanges, I was handed my key without a word.
The shower water in our rooms was lukewarm at best, the ice machine on the next floor up did not work, and I was disappointed that there was not a refrigerator in the room.
The view was beautiful, but I would never stay at this hotel again and definitely cannot recommend it.
The sheets were very loud so everytime you move it may wake others.

Dear Robin P, I apologize that we failed to provide you with a great experience. That is not our standard or our desired result. Our staff are our best asset but we failed you on this visit. We are in the middle of on board new associates and that is possibly why they did not tell you about the stairs. When we checked in we were told about the "Destination Charge". This adds twenty five dollars to your account and gives you various discounts, which can add up to the amount charged, but not in our case because we were just having a quick overnight stay before our flight. This charge does not seem to be optional and wasn't listed in the fees at the time of booking (on the Hyatt website). Just another way to cream cash off the customers?
This is not a cheap hotel, unless you happen to hit a slack period. The facilities are ok but it's mainly the convenience to get to the airport early in the morning and the views of Boston are fantastic that attracts us - we have stayed here several times over the last few years.
The restaurant doesn't have a huge selection of food but was ok for our needs. There is a balcony area above and behind the restaurant that seemed to be a bit of a waste of space. We were hoping for a coffee and a relax but it seems to be treated just as a corridor area.
The on line check in system using the Hyatt app was excellent and the notification of our room being ready early was very helpful. I would recommend other travellers using this app.

This hotel is very conveniently located near the airport and provides a free shuttle that runs on a 20-minute loop. We had a room on the top floor overlooking Logan but heard very little plane noise.

We checked in using the Hyatt app and got mobile room keys, eliminating the need for a stop at the front desk. The TV did not work when we first arrived, but the desk sent someone up right away to fix it. He found the problem and had it running again within minutes.

There is a renovation project underway, and it appears the public area is already done. Our room had also been updated, and the result was very nice. It was bright and light with a great walk-in shower.

The only issue we had was the hot water in the shower. Even turned all the way up, it could be called “warm” at best. Hopefully the renovation budget includes money for a new hot water tank.

The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

Robert S wrote a review Dec 2022
I'll start this out by saying the staff at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor was absolutely superb, and the room was very clean. The location simply can't be beat if you're transitioning through the airport. I paid extra for a view room, but the window was absolutely filthy, so the view was not as expected. I temper this somewhat with the knowledge that windows facing the ocean can be difficult to keep clean. But they're charging extra for the view, so this should not have been the problem that it was. The thermostat in the room was set, and there was no way to adjust it, so the room stayed pretty cold for my entire stay (December). I spent a lot of time under the covers, even while dressed. I wonder why they even have a temperature display at all if it can't be adjusted. The bed uses one of those combination sheet/blankets. So, in addition to not being able to adjust the temperature, you also couldn't adjust the amount of bedding that covered you, which made for somewhat restless nights. There was only one bar of soap, which had to be constantly moved back and forth between the sink and shower. There is no soap dish in the shower, and the provided tray tilted downward, so the bar of soap continually slid off onto the shower floor. The lighting in the bathroom is very dim. I imagine a woman would have difficulty applying makeup there. Despite being literally on top of the airport, with aircraft moving right beneath my window, I never heard a single one, so the exterior soundproofing is excellent. The interior soundproofing is not quite as good. The room shows some wear and tear that probably could be addressed, but everything was serviceable, and wear and tear is to be expected to some extent anyway. There is no microwave or refrigerator in the room. I knew that going in, but it would be nice to have those since there are no other restaurants nearby. There is a K cup coffee maker, which is always a plus in my book since I like to bring my coffee pods with me. The hotel restaurant does not serve lunch, so plan accordingly. The breakfast and dinner offerings are very sparse and hugely expensive ($33 for pancakes, eggs and bacon, minus tip). But the food itself is extremely good, and the service is outstanding. The room rate was very reasonable, so maybe the food prices make up for that. There were numerous positives about my stay here, but enough negatives that I just didn't find it to be up to what I consider Hyatt standards.

No pool, but other amenities are great. However, my wakeup call was a few minutes late which isn't acceptable. Last night, I got a late night call and got woken up as they accidentally called me while trying to set up a wake up call. They charge a room and county tax on a destination fee which is crazy, as there is a seperate room and tax added onto the room. They gave me a room card and wrote 423 on it, when I went to the room none of the key cards worked. I was let in by housekeeping, and there was no pull away bed as requested. After talking with the front desk, I found out they forgot to write a 1 in front of 423. An inconvenience moving luggage up 10 floors, it is all in the details. The inside of the hotel looks a lot better than the outside kind of unwelcoming. Took an extra 15 minutes this morning, to get a bike out of storage as they put it in alternative room yesterday without telling anyone where it was this morning. Dinner was excellent, but it took a little while to be greeted. The shuttle this morning took a while, as there is no set structure. It just comes every 20 minutes, and there were 3 people waiting in the lobby not knowing where it was and the night auditor didn't communicate with the driver to see where he was. Just said he should be back in a couple minutes. Again, all in the details.
