My family and I stayed for 2 nights in cottage 1 located about one minute walking distance from the main street in Rocky Harbour. The cottage was spacious and immaculate. Plenty of room for 5 people. All necessities were provided including utensils, plates, glasses, cups, coffee maker, coffee, and linens. There is a BBQ that is shared among guests. What put this stay over the top for us was the amazing host, Bill. We had purchased lobsters at the local fish plant and Bill was so kind to lend us his cooking pot and assist us with cooking and deshelling the lobsters. He was friendly and pleasant providing us with lots of information about the area, the cottages and the local life. Thank you Bill for a wonderful start to our vacation at your lovely cottage.

This is a great spot to anchor your west coast adventure. I stayed in a two-bedroom cottage and it was meticulously maintained. Super clean, beds were comfy, and service was fantastic (Mostly dealt with Geraldine, Priscilla and Bill - they were awesome). They could use another fire pit or two (there were two on the property but one was located in a soggy field that wasn't very accessible after rain).

I genuinely don’t have a bad word to say about our 2 night stay here, only that I wish we’d have stayed longer.
The cottage was not only clean and spacious but had everything we needed. It’s also conveniently situated so we could leave the car and walk to places such as the beach front, numerous restaurants and shops etc.

This is a great place to stay. The units are very clean, lots of towels, dishes etc. also supply coffee and tea. It is very convenient to walk to any restaurants in Rockey Harbour. The owners Bill and Pricilla are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a two bedroom with another couple. No issue with wifi. Close to lots of hiking.

Stayed in a one bed cottage. They were modern, well equipped, comfortable and clean. Staff were very helpful and a couple of minutes walk and you were in town. High recommend staying here. A real home from home. Also has bbqs dyed around and a coin op laundry.

Very clean well maintained property with new, clean cottages. Stayed here for 3 nights on a motorcycle trip to gros morne area. Wifi worked well and only a couple minutes walk to local restaurants and pub. Very quiet location. Owners were wonderful people and very friendly and helpful. Only downside is they do not allow dogs. Would definitely return to this location if im not traveling with my dog.

We travelled to Newfoundland last August, but when I posted my reviews of other places we stayed at, I was unable to do so for Mountain Range Cottages. I am delighted that TripAdvisor now has an entry for this place.
We stayed at Mountain Range twice in the same vacation, both before and after our (gruelling) backpacking trip to the top of Western Brook Pond and along the Long Range Traverse. [I've included a photo fron the top of the Pond. It took about 7 hours to get to this spot from the boat dock, which is just barely visible (tiny square at the most inland portion of the fjord).]
Although the cottages are not located on the water, they seemed to be brand new and were sparkling clean. We stayed in cottages 5 and 6, which are mirror images of each other and located in the same building.
This was the perfect place to base ourselves for a few days of exploration in Gros Morne. The staff are incredibly friendly (but then again, so was everyone we met in Newfoundland!), and the units are spacious. And did I say clean?? After our 4-day trek, we were covered in mud and dared not trample our hiking boots all over the squeaky clean floor. We appreciated the front porch and private yard where we were able to sort and dry out all our camping gear. Each unit also has a barbecue, which we did not take advantage of this time. Laundry facilities are available to all guests. There are no phones in the units, but a pay phone is available. The units do have cable TV.
It is an easy walk to town, and we enjoyed meals at Fisherman's Landing (with the biggest partridgeberry pancakes I've ever seen) and the Ocean View Motel.
If we had had any energy left after our trek, we would have liked to jog from the Cottages to Lobster Head Cove at the other end of town, which would have been quite pleasant along the waterfront.

The Mountain Range Cottages lack an ocean view. They are more like secluded forest cabins yet an easy walk to a couple of restaurants and convenience stores. There is an on site laundry room and suds available at the office. The cottages are new, spacious and very clean. They are well equipped for preparing meals or grilling on the gas barbecue on the front deck of the cottage. Our cottage even had chilled mugs in the freezer for my beer!
The one item I wish they stocked were lobster crackers and picks for any live lobster you might pick up at the fish market and boil for supper. Instead, we settled for some garlic butter sauted scallops.
We enjoyed our initial stay so much and knowing we would pass through Rocky Harbour one more time, we booked a future night's stay. On our return, we had a knock on our cottage door. They had saved the fridge contents from our previous stay (we did not have a car cooler) and were returning them to us. How nice is that?!

My Husband and I travelled to nfld in early June 2010 to visit his grandmother . We have always wanted to see Gros Morne , so we decided to take a few days before flying back to Alberta and enjoy the scenery there. I researched quite a number of cottages in that area but finally decided on booking at the Mountain Range Cottages. Well I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! They are Absolutely Beautiful cottages and have everything that you would need ! My husband and I stayed in Cottage # 6 and my parents who met us there stayed in cottage # 5 . Everything looked brand new , it has hardwood floors , fireplace, full kitchen , full bath and a bbq on the deck ! Margaret who works at the office and checked us into our cottage is a wonderful lady and dropped by our cottage to see if we needed anything during our stay there. The location of the cottage is perfect, it was so quiet and relaxing in a wooded area. Very close to the Western Brook Boat tour that we took with Bon Tours ! Amazing scenery in this whole area , I highly recommend the Mountain Range Cottage to anyone looking to have great service along with a beautiful stay !

The little cabins are nice and newly built. They have everything you need including a small kitchen. However, front desk staff was not friendly at check in. Also, compared to pretty much every other place in rocky harbour, there was no view at all. A few other things that were less than ideal were that there is no cleaning staff provided for the duration of your stay, and so you need to take your own trash and recycling out, but there is no recycling bin in the room and the garbage is about a gallon in size. Finally, there is no wifi, which is frustrating when you are traveling internationally and you need it for researching your next day plans, lodging, etc.
Overall these are nice but need many refinements

Their web site states “Due to allergies we have a No Pet Policy”. I suggest you contact them directly to be sure. The owners are fantastic and may have recommendations if not able to accommodate you.
Enjoy!
