We decided last minute to get away to the Sunshine Coast and found the Oceanside Hotel online. Based on feedback and pictures decided to try it and we were not disappointed. The location is perfect with a couple of options for food and many more a short drive away. We were travelling with our dog and the $20 fee was easy to book as it was part of reservation process and very reasonable. We were rewarded with front row seats on our patio to the most beautiful sunset and then enjoyed a great dinner at Joe's. Highly recommend!

We had called the previous week of our stay. As we work for BC Hydro we were told our room for 2 adults and a king bed would be $129.00 per night. The work we do is outside and had to wait until it was closer for us to do the work to book. Unfortunately upon calling and booking a room we were told the room cost was now $159.00. The reason given to me did not make sense.

We stayed in a ground floor king room. It had been updated and was very clean. New air conditioning unit, clean shower, nice toiletries and a hairdryer. Shower had great water pressure and a raispout showerhead. The room had a spectacular view. The outdoor chairs were comfortable and the sunset can't be beat. It was exactly what we were looking for during our visit to the Sunshine Coast.

The hotel is very nice as the recent renovations were very well done!
However, booked a room that stated it had an “ocean view” but the room we were given the view was the roof of the hotel & restaurant atrium - no ocean to be seen! Also the balcony doors were so dirty we could not see anything.
The balcony furniture left a little to be desired.
If you want an ocean view do not let them put you in rooms 201 or 202 - all you get is a view of the roof!
If hotel was fully booked then I can accept that - at a reduced rate!
I paid the same as others who got an unobstructed view, clean windows & nice furniture to sit on to watch the sunset.

the service at the front desk was extremely slow and of no help in sorting the irregular billing between rooms, ie differing rates for matching rooms. the rooms were clean and acceptable, although the a.c.was so loud we could not use it.a hotel restaurant on site would have definitely been nice

The place was friendly enough and the room clean and comfortable. We had some ancillary complaints as submitted to the hotel below
1. We asked for wine glasses and when brought to our room one of them was completely filthy and obviously unwashed from last use. When we asked for a replacement we got the same one back and it was not fully cleaned.
2. The areas out back of the office and kitchen were very messy and unappealling to look at. All rooms must be accessed from that side of the building so it left me wondering if cleanliness was a priority for the hotel.
A final item: the hotel advertised an electric car charger but it is specific to Tesla only. This was one of the reasons we selected the hotel and it turned out unusable for us.

This place was awful. Do not stay here.
There was a awful septic? Smell leaking from the lawn of the hotel facing the water.
We stayed in the “villas”
The suite was grossly dirty and many things broken and unsafe; including doors and windows.
Customer service would not address these issues and refused to give us a refund.
Avoid this place!

Nice hotel situated right by the water - the rooms were big and clean, and had recently been refurbished. We had a room with a huge bed and then a second room with a separate bed so would have been good for travellers with children.
The hotel is by the road but we didn’t really notice any noise.
We enjoyed dinner at the pub/restaurant next to the hotel - we sat outside and could see whales in the water in the distance! Opposite the hotel is a small pier which was nice to walk out and take in the views.
Did the job well and was a great stopover on the way from Vancouver Island, down the Sunshine Coast and back to Vancouver City.
The hotel is by the road but we didn’t really notice any noise.

If looking for a weekend get away, the Oceanside Hotel is a perfect location to watch sunset. Strolling along the bay walk is refreshing. The restaurant has descent menu to choose from and sip your favorite wine while watching the sunset.
The hotel is also close to popular pub in Sechelt where you can meet your friends.

Place is very clean staff very friendly. Muizz at the front desk was amazing Views spectacular. Joes on the Beach is a restaurant on site and didn’t disappoint was great experience, staff and food especially the bkft was fabulous. How can you go wrong when you see whales right out in front.

Well we were there the summer of 2015 and new owners had taken over - the attached restaurant was then closed and they did not appear to have a bar...however there are such facilities very close by - as in some couple hundred yards.
