Detailed Reviews

I stayed here for 2 nights in room nr. 105 (ground level). Front desk staff was very friendly and check inn was fast. The room was spacious with 2 double beds.

The accomodation is elegant, clean, beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and clean as well. Inside the room there was a fridge, microwave, chairs and table, sufficient coffee making facilities and wifi is free. If you like bbq, the resort offert bbq rental. Parking in front of your room is free as well.

The flyer said the room had a stunning view of the protected harbour, but our room did not have this view, There was no view, besides when you open the front door and see the lawn with bbq's.

The resort is a 5 minute walk to the shopping centre and there are some restaurants nearby. The resort has an indoor pool and hot tub. During the 2 days I stayed here, unfortunately the hot tub was closed for maintenance. Breakfast was included. It was simple but sufficient and good. Location is great. All together a nice place to stay, I would recommend this place .

From Port Mc Neill it is a short drive to Telegraph Cove, worth visiting this [octiresque historical place with colorful houses, or to take a whale watching trip or visit the whale interpretive centre with exhibits of a skeleton of a killer whale . Entrance fee is based on a donation.

Other things to do and see around Port Mc Neill are :
* Beaver Cove: a log - sorting and grooming facility here boats arrange huge logs into booms for transport to coastal sawmills

* Take a ferry to Alert Bay on Cormorant Islant if you are interested in native art, culture or fisching. You can visit the Visitor Information centre at Port Mc Neill for information about the ferry

Great stay! Was refreshing to stay somewhere so clean without feeling like we needed to keep our shoes on. Beds were really comfortable and was nice to have a mini fridge and microwave. Shower was also good.

We didn’t use the spa at all. The breakfast was awesome with fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, good coffee, tea, make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs and bagels. Plenty to choose from to fuel up for the day. I didn’t catch the woman’s name at the desk and putting breakfast away but she was very warm and welcoming.

Only minor complaint would be to add another lamp to the room so you don’t have to use overhead fluorescent lighting in the evening.

Would book again!

This appears to be a fairly new resort. Judging by the vehicles parked outside the rooms a lot of people are staying here for work. We were tourists heading over to Alert Bay in the morning. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The continental breakfast was very basic, but it was enough to fill us before we caught the first ferry

We showed up without a reservation at 2 pm april 22 2021 to check out the area for our fishing club which is a non-profit organization that raises money for local fish hatcheries to save the salmon and bring dollors into local communities. We paid for a room and never stepped foot in the room and went on about our buisness filming the area for the purpose of attracting members and others. We got a call after 4 hours of a family member emergency so without stepping in the room they would not refund our money. They said they need 48 hours notice. How do we give 48 hours notice when we didnt book and paid 4 hours prior. Well they just lost our buisness and we will be promoting another motel to hundreds of people. Their loss . Feeling ripped off

The room was checked and was not dirty and there were no maintenance issues. Once a room is rented and keys are issued we do not refund. We do not rent hourly rooms. Covid 19 cleaning protocols hotel rooms must be completely sanitized and fresh linen before the keys are issued. We do not tolerate rude or abusive behavior towards our staff so it is best you stay else where in the future. Warm regards

A great place to stay in Port McNeil. Super clean room and a comfortable bed. I could tell the floor was clean, willing to walk around in my bare feet. Which is more than I can say for some of the big city chain hotels that cost twice as much for a night's stay. Check in/ check out was a breeze. No elevator, so if stairs are an issue, request a room on the ground floor at time of booking. I wish there was an online reservation system but not the end of the world. I was recommended this place by a local. Will stay again.

We booked a cottage because we thought it would be quieter than the motel. To some extent, that was true, but the neighbours (although not rowdy) could be heard clearly well past 9:00pm. There is no view (except of the parking lot). It was very clean. The smoke alarm is extremely sensitive (toast set it off. Boiling pasta set it off) which is great, and irritating at the same time. It is one big room, like a bachelor suite, with one chair, one table with two chairs, and a big bed. Cozy. Shower only, no bath. We booked for 3 nights but only stayed 2. The spa/pool area is closed due to staffing issues. Breakfast is takeaway only of boiled eggs, boxed cereal and sliced bagels. The lobby itself has a stuffed juvenile bear which looks disturbingly like the real thing...not in a scary way but a 'why would anyone do that?' way. Reception was efficient. Cigarette butts under a few of the porches.

We went up for our annual summer visit. The staff were very friendly - check in was easy. We stayed in one of the cabins; it was super clean and we loved the small front porch. A great place to relax and unwind: fresh air and sun. We'll be staying here again next year

You might want to stay closer to the ocean, Gus’s pup has rooms to the side of the pub, second floor has great view. Might be worth looking at
