Welcome to Cluxewe, a natural wonder, in the land of the Kwakiutl people. “Cluxewe” has two different, but related, meanings: “place of the changing river mouth” and “place of refuge.” Listen to waves splash on the shoreline. Awaken to the haunting sound of loons or the rusty-gate screech of a bald eagle. Enjoy fabulous summer sunsets over Broughton Strait. In early summer you can enjoy both sunsets and sunrises from your deck. Each of the twelve cozy cottages, including the 3-unit "tri-plex," comes with cooking and dining utensils, stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, and full bathroom. Cottages also feature TV/VCR's with satellite television. These cottages are wonderful retreats for artists, writers, and nature lovers as well as fishermen! 152 campsites, many on the ocean and Cluxewe River estuary.

We have stayed at Cluxewe cabins many times and we always love it: wonderful location, the most amazing sunsets, great place for fishing, wildlife all around (next to otters, bald eagles we also saw a bear on the campsite), enjoying our campfire in the evening…..
The cabins are basic and clean and have everything you need: good value for money. Housekeeping staff is super friendly and helpful. Although the weather was a bit chilly this time, we once again truly enjoyed our stay at Cluxewe

I camped here for one night, and stayed in Cabin 3 for one night in September 2020. We stayed in campground 64, which is right on the ocean, but has some shelter from some bushes and trees. Despite the inclement weather, it is a beautiful site. You have views of the ocean on one side, and views of the estuary on the other side. The bathrooms are generally quite clean, and there are paid showers and laundry facilities as well. There weren't that many people tenting, due to the weather, but there were quite a few folks in RVs. Lots of people coming down to fish right off the shore. You have amazing views of the mainland mountains, and out to Malcolm Island. We spent the second night of our stay in Cabin 3 which is a cute and cozy, and right on the ocean. It has a little covered balcony that you can drink your coffee on and watch for whales. The cabin was clean and tidy, with everything that you need for a stay for a few nights. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. It was a treat to fall asleep listening to the rain on the roof, and wake up and drink coffee and watch the waves.

We stayed in one of the two bedroom cabins, with friends in the adjacent cabin. The cabins are really wonderful, and a great value. They are located right on the ocean. There is a little grassy area in front of the larger cabins, with the beach a few feet below. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. The water is not potable, but the resort provides drinking water. The resort has a kids play area and expansive grounds. We loved watching the sunsets and beachcombing. Look forward to returning again next year!

We checked in early Fri morning at 11am which was nice. Were told the key was on the table for our cabin#5. It appeared that no effort was made to clean or freshen up the cabin for our arrival. Dirty windows, cobwebs inside by floor lamp shade, dust hanging off beam ceiling beams, stains olong bathtub, outside deck dirty, plastic bag of brown stuff resembling dog poop just outside our deck on the beach. Potable water pump only worked on first day. Hardly anyone at the resort. Was very disappointed needless to say.

We stayed in cabin #4. When we first pulled up I thought "this looks so nice", then you walk inside this cute cabin and see the view and say "wow"! It was very clean and comfortable looking. The setting is so quiet and peaceful, the view is spectacular, and you get to fall asleep to the sound of waves. The only downside was the bed and pillow, I think they need to invest in new ones as the mattress was kind of sagging in the middle and the pillows were lumpy.

We stayed here for our anniversary and loved this property! We were in a cabin, it was really nice on the inside, and the balcony overlooking the ocean was amazing. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. It was quiet and we really enjoyed our stay here. My only advice would be to book the bistro in advance as it was full the weekend we were there. We had to go into town for meals which was fine as well. No complaints about this lovely place!

Memories of this beautiful place lured us back for our 4th visit in 2 years! We love the waterfront vistas, the easy-going atmosphere, and the affordable rates. It is clean, family-friendly, and well run. We will be back again in 2021 for a family reunion.

I made our reservation for 2 R.V. sites with Angela, who was delightful & extremely helpful.
We stayed in sites 1 & 2. Full service & very large sites right across from the beach.
The grounds are tidy & well looked after.
We look forward to making this an annual trip.
Thank you again Angela for taking such good care of us!

This is our 4th time here, and the beach is beautiful! Could not believe the fish jumping right close to shore, it was amazing to see. Beach is not crowded, but rocky.
Do not drink the water! When I had a shower in our trailer it smelled swampy, then I decided to fill the tub a little to see the colour and it was pretty brown. We looked at the water filter and it was mucky brown! Bring your own to drink, and to make tea and coffee.
The woman in the office was a lovely person, very friendly.

Just home from a few days camping at Cluxewe. Lovely site, ocean view. Staff at desk were friendly and professional. Showers worked great, 1 loonie got the job done. Great playground seemed to be enjoyed by lots of kids. Will definitely return

There is a fire ban in BC. There are fire pits at the resort, so I assume they sell wood. You might want to call ahead to confirm but I can confidently tell you there is a fire ban in effect. We are at a level 4 water restrictions.
