Stayed here for six nights for a business trip. I come down to Aruba twice a year and this was my first visit to this hotel mainly due to the huge price difference ($206 USD/night vs $500+ USD/night elsewhere). A newly renovated property with modern amenities, airy lobby, free parking, restaurant, workout room, and poolside bar located across the road from Palm Beach. While the rooms are quite spacious, my room didn’t have a desk or workspace. I actually took the patio furniture from the balcony and put it inside so I could work on my laptop in comfort. I made it work but not ideal. There is a nice workspace in the lobby but it isn’t air conditioned and after dark you are exposed to bugs. Wifi is decent.

Staff aren’t very attentive and I had to leave notes to get shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and Kleenex refreshed. They are missing some of the basics when it comes to general management.

Pool area fills up quickly but the pools are quite large but not deep (4 feet).

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback. My name is Samantha Croes and I am in charge of Marketing at the Courtyard Aruba Resort. It has come to our attention that the service you received during your recent stay did not meet your expectations. For this, we sincerely apologize. I must add that we do offer a king room that has a desk especially for people that come here for business to work on their laptop. The experience you described is not characteristic of the level of service our associates strive to provide. We would love the opportunity to hear more about your recent stay ( in an effort to prevent this issue from occurring in the future) Please let me know the best contact number and time to reach you, or feel free to contact our Guest Relations Manager, Shawn Williams via phone anytime at +297-594-5929. As another reviewer stated, this review will address some of the “issues” reported. We checked in on the 22nd. Yes with a group of people all checking in at the same time. (Most US flights seem to all land between 2 and 3PM so most hotels get a rush of people) check in was slow. It took about 20 minutes. The pool area was clean and open. Being only two stories, you still received a breeze. Chairs and cabanas are all first come first served. If a towel was there it was claimed. Really not that big of a deal unless you wanted to be on the correct side of an umbrella for afternoon shade.

There was plenty of hot water. There are signs that allow you to find your room pretty easily. The fire alarm did go off once during our stay at about 10PM. We did not use the beach, however there is a small SUV that did go back and forth.

The food I found to be quite good and I thought reasonably priced

The pool bar has 2 happy hours. One at 11-12 and another from 4-5. The Bistro bar also has one a 6-7.

They are still working on some of the rooms, but very little noise can be heard at the pool area.

The management staff is the same that opened the Ritz, and they are working to bring the place up to Marriot standards

They are next to the Old Mill Disco, and our room was on the second floor near it. We never heard any noise from there at all. If you want beach front, then this is not the place. However if you want a reasonably priced place to say with amenities it works quite nicely.

I am a Marriott Elite Member and fly to Aruba every three months. I love to hotel hop and stay at every Marriott in Aruba and honestly I am so glad they turned this hotel into a Marriott. The property is beautiful , the staff is awesome ! I have had the pleasure to meet Albert and Nelson who work at both bars around the pool and always go above and beyond to make sure our needs are fulfilled! The location is amazing , its about a 7 minute walk to /from restaurants, bars & nightlife which is big for me because taxis can get pricey and the rates don't always stay the same.Rooms are SPACIOUS, beds are extremely comfortable I can go on and on about this hotel. I can't wait to go back!

I will preface my review by saying that I’ve stayed at Marriott’s all Of my career, I am a Titanium Lifetime Elite Member. I’m 68 years old. I’m really not one to complain that much but this was so over-the-top I feel it’s worth speaking about. I stayed for seven nights just last week. I will categorically list what started out to be a nice trip to Aruba but ended up being very frustrating with the hotel. Upon arrival my reservation could not be found even though I received for the three weeks before notices welcoming me to Aruba and looking forward to my visit. My first shower was a cold one, the second night I was woken up in the early morning hours of the fire alarm going off this happened several times throughout my stay, I attempted to eat at the pool bar only to have more flies than food,I looked down at one point and there we’re no less than six flies on my food, I pushed it back. They were advertising Abita beer on tap with several tabs at the bar but none of them were working. I was woken up in early morning with a knocking on the door, it was electrician saying that I had called in a problem, I did not. I went to do laundry they gave me change for the machine they gave me soap, I went to the laundry room but alas none of the machines were working, so in town I went to do laundry. I did not see a shuttle to the beach, this is not a new building this is a new property take over by Marriott, it was called the Mill, right in front of the building is the old windmill which is now a nighttime discotheque, the music plays very loudly all night long resonating down the halls of the open concept property many people were complaining about this but we’re told that there’s nothing could be done about it. In my shower, there were long hairs all over the shower floor, not mine. Kind of gross! I recognize Marriott wanted to get this facility up and running for high season, but in my honest opinion I really believe they opened it too soon not having all of the mechanicals ready and not having the staff fully up to speed on how to handle the people that were coming in. I know this sounds like a scathing review of this facility but again I compared to every Marriott that I stayed at in my working career and this certainly is subpar. Hope they can get their act together otherwise this would be a fine place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel, and after checking in we entered to our room and had strong sewerage smell, the other room was flooded and no electricity!
Manager of the hotel Lizabeth was fantastic, patient and very helpful!!
She was trying to help every guests to the highest standard but her hand was tied!! This property was under renovation and they should not open it that early when still lots of work had to be done.
Staffs have not been trained after take over of this property by Marriott standards.
Dylan at entertainment was so great and wonderful. He tried hard to make guests happy and entertained, very polite young man.
Nicole other supervisor was very patient as well and tried to answer everyone complaints, these people were front line and they took all the frustration of guests on themselves!!

So much potential... staff is nice, but it’s like being cut by a 1000 paper cuts. Rooms and decor are good/updated, but it’s everything else. No real food or bar/restaurant service so limited on options have to leave the hotel to eat anything basic; it’s weird that no one knows why these quarantined cruise people have access to hotel grounds in a roped off community are they Covid positive or waiting for a test; and the rooms fans are soooo loud it’s hard to sleep; irons and electrical outlets don’t work; no ice machines; and the grab and go has nothing.

Only real positive is the price, people otherwise should go elsewhere to an Air BnB or spend more money at a better hotel despite this area with so little occupancy. It’s been a frustrating week with 3 days to go... while on vacation.

If you like to stay in a smaller and cozier hotel than big all inclusive resorts with several hunderd rooms, then Courtyard by Marriott Aruba Resort is your place.
The location at the beginning of the hotel and restaurant strip of Noord is just perfect: Peaceful, but from walking distance of shops and restaurants. The amazing Palm Beach is also a walking distance away, and for lazy people there is also a shuttle service from hotel to beach. The Arubus service runs nearby and it only takes 15 minutes and costs USD 2,60 to ride to Oranjestaad, no need for a rental car.
We enjoyed our renovated, spacious room with large bathroom very much. Bed was comfortable, a bit soft for my taste. Our room was situated on the second floor (the hotel only has 2 floors) of the main building, where the reception is located. We also liked that our balcony was not facing the pool area, which was quite full all day long. Pool area was big and nice, though.
Breakfast was great, lots of sortiment. In addition we would have liked some fresh vegetables (tomato, salad, cucumbers, bell pepper etc.) to go with bread and omelettes. Also fruit selection could have been wider and the single packed fruit cubes could be served in a bowl to reduce single use packaging. Otherwise it was nice, that single use cutlery or containers were not used at breakfast. The hotel seemed to care about ecological and sustanability matters, which is important to us and hopefully more and more for other travellers too.
The service at the reception was very friendly, especially Sunci and Yulia were great, thank you! The breakfast staff was also very nice, but hotel restaurant dinner service seemed a bit understaffed and therefore the service was not that great, so one time was enough for us.
The complimentary yoga class was nice and we also used the guest laundry room. Our stay was overall very good, I would highly recommend this hotel as an option for big resorts nearby.

We decided to stay at this property based on the Marriott reputation. Two rooms were reserved for 5 nights. Walking into both rooms in different buildings (didn't even provide conjoining rooms) we were overwhelmed with the unbearable smell of mold/mildew. In addition to the smell, the tile floors were slippery from moisture-all a sign of poor air handling. We returned to the check in desk for help and they said they would send someone right over to assist. While waiting, we saw that the counter surfaces were not clean, and bugs were in both rooms due to the hotel doors opening to the outdoors. Their cleaning solution was to send an assistant who had a small cloth in one hand and a bottle of Fabreze in the other! Knowing this wasn’t going to fix the real problem of air filtration, we requested different rooms. We were told one room was available the following day. We said we couldn’t breath in our rooms and we’re concerned of allergy flair ups. We searched other hotel options and ended up finding an entirely different property (non-Marriott). Sticking with policy, the Courtyard front desk said they would have to charge us for one night two rooms- even though they could not provide an adequate solution for our reservation. I’ve been a Marriott member for over 15 years, and this was the worst experience, especially considering it was a long planned and long distance family vacation. Maybe there was a problem with the property at that time but consider other options!

The staff was very nice and accommodating. From Mayrtha who made sure my room was like new daily, Ashley who greeted me and helped me when I arrived, Isaiah (they looked fabulous and was knowledgeable for places to eat authentic Aruban food, Sandy knew where they party was and a hook up on all the activities, Julen who was the waiter who kept my drink full during happy hour, Sennon and Jesus who made sure everything was sanitized for me at the canopy and that the shower was working properly (or the operator knew how to operate it properly ). They were the best! Breakfast was great daily as well!!!!

The hotel was clean modern spacious and we loved the accommodations .

The breakfast was delicious and the service was exceptional ! Elvie and Yolanda were the kindest and the most caring servers we ever had! The hostess was also very warm and welcoming! This breakfast staff is the best thing about hotel. Bad side was We were told at check in at front desk breakfast buffet was included all week but the first 5 days we were told no it would be $28 a piece the 6th and 7th day they told us breakfast buffet included. When I checked out I complained to front desk and they credited us what we paid out of pocket for breakfast for 5 days. So happy they did good by their mistake. I heard someone else checking out as I waited for cab to airport they had same complaint about being told breakfast included but than paid out of pocket for breakfast. So realized its a problem not sure if its on purpose or staff not communicating correctly!

The front desk not so friendly and helpful! They need to take lessons from breakfast crew! Happy hour bartenders in pool area were amazing loved them.

They had a shuttle to beach a few minutes away.
The beach area was very rustic ,a public beach in front of a noisy construction sight. sand was not raked full of sticks and broken glass. No bathrooms they tell you to go to Riu and if you go there the security guards kick you out because guests of Riu all have bracelets. Julio the beach attendant who gives you water and gets your beach chairs made the not so pleasant atmosphere better. He’s kind and makes sure to save umbrellas before the locals takes the spot. Julio deserves a raise!

Cleaning ladies did a great job cleaning but we were shorted towels 3 out of the 4 days We only got one bath towel each and no hand or wash cloths 3 out of 7 days. We could of complained but didn’t we made due with what we had. First few days we had one garbage can towards end of week more garbage cans were added wish it was more consistent all week.

Its a beautiful hotel but needs more consistency and beach area needs to be cleaned up. Obviously everyone was peeing in the water since no bathrooms gross. We walked the beach a lot and stopped at the pier for lunch or drinks and a potty break. Long walk but no choice.

Courtyard is very walkable main area to restaurants and bars. We did a tour of the island with a excursion company. We took taxi to eagle beach and oranjestad but there are also buses you can take. I would not rent a car unless you have mobility issues or intend on driving around the island a lot but we found the one excursion was enough to see what we wanted to see and stuck to most popular area which is where we were by staying at the courtyard. They have a very convenient shuttlr transportation to palm beach from hotel

Entrees were between $20-30 each and desserts $9-$15 on average. We never at the hotel. Better variety and options on the main strip.
