Stayed for a weekend at this DoubleTree while visiting a University in Rochester with my son. The hotel was conveniently located not far from the airport or the University. The staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Rochester.

Having past experience with the brand, I chose DoubleTree by Hilton Rochester for a business trip. The location was perfect for a corporate headquarters call we were making, as it was minutes away. Ample parking, clean and comfy rooms. Located at a hub off the main highway, where many food choices were available. Because we had been driving for almost 6 hours, we opted to eat in, and were not disappointed with the selections from the inhouse restaurant. Our server, Lisa, was a pleasure. Food was really better than average and we enjoyed our meal. We also chose the breakfast plan when booking, and the food was ample, fresh and delicious. Waffles and an Omelet station, juices, good coffee also available. Service for both dinner and breakfast was excellent. Jerry was our server, and we enjoyed a lively conversation about our pets. It's nice to know that two middle aged 'road warriors' could feel safe and welcome. Check in was easy, and pleasant as was check out. Would stay again when in Rochester.

Our family stayed there for a couple of days to take our daughter to RIT. The staff are very nice specially Theresa who works at the restaurant. Our room was a nice size to fit 4 people but the management need to fix the following: 1. Bathtub is clogged. 2. One of the lamp is not working and so is the plug with it. 3. The bathroom lock is not working. 4. The handles of gym equipment is sticky and gross. 5. For a room that sleeps 4, we only saw 2 bath towels so we have to request for more. 6. Housekeeping did not throw the used bar soap from the shower. 7. Toilet paper holder was situated at the side of the sink table hence you need to turn your body to reach for the toilet paper. Overall our sleep was comfortable.

Well first of all they don't always have a shuttle available. You have to find a ride on your own.

The staff is very welcoming, very friendly, helpful and attentive.

The beds are great and the pillows are the best of any hotel I have stayed on my trips.

My biggest issue was housekeeping did NOT place bath towels in my room when they finished cleaning it. I did not realize this until I got out of the shower the following morning.

It is a short review because I only stayed overnight.

HORRIBLE experience. So much for "making it right" . I was placed in your dungeon room with my Son. No pullout or ANY light. We opened the window to see a storage room area. I called and went to the front desk twice. Jess was the receptionist along with another I do not remember the name to switch rooms. We were denied and told they were sold out, which is BS, because when I went online, there were rooms via Hilton direct and every other 3rd party site. The thermostat did not work so we had to use the old school fan on the floor. We both woke up sick and not being able to breathe. The bathroom door would not close and when you took a shower the water went all over the floor due to there being no lip to stop the water. It was for a wheelchair. Entire floor of bathroom soaked. When I told the front desk about, they offered to send engineering which i declined b/c nothing they could do about except mop up as I did with the towels. I called the manager on Sunday Morning and again on Monday morning (Melanie) and left voicemails for her. It's now Tuesday and no return call AND I am still sick and never ever get sick. NOt happy and want full refund fro that night stay.
We ended up switching rooms at 1pm to the 2nd floor after 4 repeated requests starting at 9pm that next AM.

Unfortunately the hotel was anticipating a complete sell out and at the times you contacted the desk, they were not able to move your room. Very dissatisfied with my stay. No hot water in one room and they transferred me to another room where I had no cold water. The soap dish was hanging off the wall. The refrigerator was broken and didn’t work and they charge you $10 a day for a microwave . The Doubletree was always supposed to be one of the high end options with Hilton. I was very disappointed and will try the Marriot next time.

The location was excellent for our needs however the rooms are dated. We checked in using the Hilton Mobile app and couldn't get the digital key to work. So we went to the front desk where they issued key cards. Our room had a balcony which we thought was a great, however, we were quickly disappointed by the noise since our room was facing inside and located right above the bar area. The noise was a distraction and prevent us from sleeping. We asked to change rooms however they were adamant that there were no available rooms left but we knew a few families that haven't checked in yet, so their rooms were still available. We decided not to argue and retreated back to our room. We needed to use the pull out sofa bed but there were no sheets in the room so we called the front desk to request sheets blankets and towels and it took over 20 minutes to receive the items. The lady that was delivering the items was handing us a pillow but accidently dropped it on the dirty floor and proceed to pick it up and hand it to us. We denied the dirty pillow, luckily we had extra pillows in the closet. The sheets were dingy and in my opinion they need to refresh their sheet/blanket and towel inventories. The lighting in the room is dark and the heating/ac unit is very loud. Overall the room needs modernizing, they should start by adding at minimum USB outlets, brighter lights, new sheets, towels, and blankets.
The parking is ample and the lobby is comforting. If you are inside the lobby by the front desk and look up beyond the elevator you will notice several brown ceiling tiles that should be replaced.

One of the key reasons of booking this hotel was because it was so close to the airport and they advertise having a shuttle. The specific wording on the website reads, "A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request)." We were told that the shuttle only runs from 8am-10pm for guests, because earlier and later shuttle runs are saved for flight attendants. They suggested we try Uber or Lyft. We scheduled an Uber for the next morning after hours of uncertainty, as no Ubers showed as available for 4:45 am. The morning of our trip, our Uber arrived and we asked the employee at the front desk if there was a specific place where we needed to leave our car or a tag we needed to place inside in order to leave it. She said, "you can't leave your car here. You will run the risk of it getting towed." We responded that they advertise a shuttle to and from the airport and that people must be able to leave their cars if they offer the shuttle service. Again she replied, "We're not an airport hotel. You will get towed." We were forced to cancel the $20 Uber who was waiting for us in the parking lot that we only ordered because they were unable to transport us, and then had to pay $75 for parking at the airport for the week. Had we known, we would have just driven to the airport from our house the morning of and skipped the hotel and cancelled Uber cost! Doubletree, please do not advertise a roundtrip shuttle to the airport if A. you are unable to take and pick up guests from the airport at some of the most common times for departures and arrivals, and B. you don't let people leave their cars when they travel to the airport, whether it be by your shuttle or the Uber that your staff recommends to the guest!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE if you are flying out of the Rochester Airport!!!!!!

Dearkkyliex3, Thank you for your feedback. If you stay at the hotel, airport transportation can be scheduled and we do allow you to leave your vehicle, of course you park at your own risk. If you do not stay at the hotel, we do not provide shuttle service or allow you to leave your vehicle. Unfortunately how your review is worded, it's not clear to me if you stayed. When we checked in they did not have the usual welcome cookies ... the cook had called in sick. Asked for cookies next morning.. informed you only receive these at check in. And when we informed them we did not receive these, they stated they haven't brought them out today.

For a room with two double beds, they only have two towels for four people.

The breakfast was out of many items.. no fruit, no bread, no pancakes. Seems like they are short staffed.

Due to COVID, the pool was to be limited to 10 people... This was not the case. No one is monitoring/enforcing this at the hotel.

My family used to come here when I was a kid when we would go back to school shopping. We decided to bring our kids for a fun weekend. Check in was awful. My mother booked the reservation, and called to see if we could check in early. We were assured we could, so we drove 2 hours and got here around 1 pm. We were then told we could not check in until 3 or 4. Naturally, my mother called the front desk to explain what she was told and I sat in the lobby and watched the receptionist laugh with other managers and roll her eyes at my mom while on the phone. I was honestly disgusted. I understand working in customer service is literally the worst BUT control yourself and be professional when other customers are watching. I finally said “that’s my mother, please don’t be so rude”. She then continued to yell over me whenever I tried to say anything. I ended up having to sit in the lobby with my three year old for an hour and a half until our rooms became available. All the while, other guests were entering and checking in. When I asked why others were able to check in I was told “they weren’t checked in”. As if I wasn’t standing there and watching these happy family’s given their warm chocolate chip cookies and room keys. The rest of the stay was below average. Rooms smelled, pool was very cold, floor around the pool was so slippery everyone who walked around fell, toilets are loud. When we booked we requested three rooms next to each other, and confirmed they were. However we got rooms 121, 122 and 134. 121 and 122 were much farther apart than you would have expected. The whole number system on the doors makes little sense. Overall our two night stay was very disappointing and we definitely won’t be back. Think twice before booking here. Looking out the window I can see nicer hotels, worth the few extra $$.

Hi Sorry I missed this. I am not sure as we drove to this location or a wedding. I would suggest using Google Maps for distance and or questions about shuttle service to contact the great staff a the property.
