Now for the room😕:

I like these smaller Casinos that are off the strip but still offer everything you need for a comfortable stay however, the condition of the rooms leave a lot to be desired and the cost is mis-leading.

They had a special for $45 a night but by the time taxes, fees included it was almost $90😱so be careful & ask what total price is.

Now, getting to the room was hell and I saw no luggage carts 🛒 nor any valet. It was literally 1/4 mile walk to get to my room! Exhausting when carrying all my luggage.

Once I entered the room itself, it appeared to have had a frat party in it prior to my arrival. The floor looked not vacuumed, the bathtub 🛀 was atrocious, the fixtures filthy, the walls beat up and I doubt sheets were changed. I travel with my own bedding and sleep on top of bed 🛌 (thank God for that)!

I ended up disinfecting everything because I was nervous about getting some sort of crud.

The windows did not open which I cannot stand because the “taste” of staleness lodged in my throat the entire stay ....(grateful I was there for only one night).

A picture is worth 1,000 words so I will just leave it at that & post pictures other than to say, I did well at the Casino and the Liver & Onions 🧅 I ordered from restaurant were some of the best I have ever had.

The question is, will I return? The jury is still out on that one!

We needed a getaway and found what we thought would be a safe spot outside of Las Vegas. We’re in the middle of the pandemic so no place is 100% but Sunset Station did all they could to allay our concerns.

It’s not the newest hotel in the area but I thought the complaints about it being old and tired were overblown. Our rooms were roomy and clean. They didn’t smell like old smoke. Everyone was required to mask up. It was the only place we saw employees insist their customers comply with masking requirements.

The staff was very pleasant and efficient. The casino has a supervised kids area ($11 per hour) that was awesome. Ours did not want to leave. The reservations systems for dining worked well. Every person entering, doesn’t matter how many times a day, was temp checked by courteous and professional staff.

When we visited the strip none of the casinos we entered required temp checks. None enforced masking rules 100%. None has staff as friendly.

A petty knock...it’s not clear that you have to call for the rooms to be made up. It’s printed on a letter which is on the table in the rooms. It’s not a problem to require it, but it should be pointed out at check-in.

We had a great time. We’ll be back. Thank you for doing all you could to make it a memorable stay during such a tough time.

I really wanted to like this tired old property, because it's a perfect location to stay for 3-5 nights when I come to visit family nearby. I wanted to like it so much, I even stayed here twice. I joined their rewards program, ate at their most expensive restaurant (Sonoma Cellar), spent time in their casino, but in the end, nothing could help me feel better about my bad decision to stay at Sunset Station. The Wifi doesn't work. No joke, it doesn't work at all. I couldn't even pull up a Google web search page. I called their internet help line after I even upgraded the Wifi plan to improve my bandwidth. We had 3 laptops with us, none of them could download a web page. But paying extra for something that doesn't work is money down the toilet. Their abysmal internet help desk promised to contact me within 48 hours (really?) but they didn't call, text or email. I had to set up a wireless hotspot with my cell phone to get my email. Then, they had the audacity to charge me for premium internet (that I didn't or couldn't use) when I checked out. They simply don't care about you as a customer, they don't want to help, and I'm not sure they got the memo there's a pandemic going on right now and perhaps it would be good idea to clean the slot machines in the casino, remove bottles, ashtrays and wipe down the machines. I didn't see a single worker in the casino doing any cleaning in 3 days and boy was I disgusted sitting in the filth with no social distancing. In the hotel room, the pillows are like lumps of wet wood chips, the bed squeaked, there wasn't enough toilet paper, and they overcharge! Not only do they charge a resort fee, they also charge a service fee, more than doubling the nightly price. After 3 nights, we finally checked out this morning and moved to another hotel run by a brand name hotel. I'm so happy I don't need to walk down the hallway of my new hotel and smell vaping scent and cigarette smoke. Sunset Station is not worth spending your hard earned money on, they have given up, and it's really sad.

Stayed in July 2020. Maria, a room cleaner, takes it upon herself to knock on doors starting at 9am to tell guests that checkout time is coming, which is 11 am by the way. She followed me down the hallway, at 10am while i walked with a cup of coffee and kept asking me what room i was in...while her supervisor, I assume, stood with a clipboard and watched. Then at about 1045 she just entered our hotel room with her key, while my wife was getting dressed, WITHOUT A MASK stood so close you could smell her smokey breath, and told us that 11 is checkout time. ALSO an older lady on the elevator with us said she started getting bothered by Maria at 9am, and felt chased out of her room as well. Well of course we complained to the front desk, we are repeat customers, we stay there often, as we like the oyster bar. So the front desk gave us Delia's card, the hotel manager, because of course, she was not available, what hotel manager would be available at an odd time like 11am on a weekday, right? So we called and left a detailed message with this Delia, the Sunset Station Hotel manager, and she never returned the call. (Perhaps there was some sort of mess up with her voice mail?) In conclusion, because we never heard otherwise from Station Casinos, one must assume Delia and the rest of Station Casino's management staff approve of this behavior and possibly even train their employees to do this.

I stayed here when I came to Henderson to visit relatives. My room was the only pleasant thing about this drab, sad hotel. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. But if you care about what you eat and breathe, then escape the property for anything else.

They located the reception/checkin by the casino floor so you’re instantly covered in smoke. The walk to the elevator that goes to the hotel rooms is very long, assuring you pass the smoky casino. I saw a non smoking section of the casino but it was surrounded by smoke. I tried to find a bathroom in the lobby. It it was far from the reception - Buried deep with the casino.

Meal options in the hotel are fast food or buffet or ... yucky. I wanted a vegetarian meal and was quite challenged. I got some tortellini dish at the Italian restaurant but it was smothered with cheese - decadent, ok but not what I expected and one portion could have fed 3.

There’s a Starbucks by the reception but it’s also surrounded by smoke.

My key card didn’t always work. You need it for the elevator and your room so it’s a drag when it works with one but not the other and you need new ones and must travel all the way back to reception.

WiFi is free but shaky.

You get what you pay for but at least the room was nice.

Stayed here while visiting family that lives in the area with my adult daughter and two minor children. The room was spotless and staff extremely helpful. We ate at The Feast each morning and the food was delicious with a wide variety to satisfy everyone. The casino was not over crowded and easy to find a machine to play. Payoffs seemed great to me😊😘
There were also a variety of other cafe, hamburger and other areas to grab snack foods within the casino area plus a bowling alley and movie theater.

Our Family Reunion was FANTASTIC! I have more positive thoughts than negative. Our room was clean, but no added amenities such as refrigerator, microwave, nor coffee pot. I understand COVID caused many changes, but c'mon now. Our family rented at least 20 rooms. When I made my reservation I asked for adjoining rooms, but instead our rooms were across the hall and a few doors down from each other. My television wasn't working, but eventually a technician came by and got the tv up and running and the technician was friendly and pleasant. The outdoor swimming pool makes up for the other inconveniences. I usually choose to go back to The Sunset because of the pool. All of the kids enjoyed Cyber Quest. There was an hour wait for bowling, but the kids were good sports about it and used the time getting to know each other. The prices at Starbucks were higher than most Starbucks. We had a bar in our banquet room and the prices for drinks were astronomical...$20 per mixed drink (no kidding). The food was good per the menu we chose, but the dessert products left a negative impression. The elevators were constantly breaking down causing lines of people waiting up to 15 minutes to be able to catch the elevator to there floor. Gambling turned out good for most of our clan ranging from slots, craps, black jack, and poker...everyone enjoys winning! There is not an over night bellman, so be prepared to carry your own luggage or go and pick up the luggage cart for yourself if you have an early departure. Our valet experience was good great group of guys working. Overall, our stay was enjoyable! Fun family memories were made throughout the weekend!

This is our fourth stay at the Sunset Station. My family lives in Henderson, and this is our go to hotel when we visit them. As always, the rooms were kept neat and spotless. We received housekeeping every day and the ladies who took care of the room were always polite and friendly. We stayed in a junior suite so the kids could each have their own bed. Everything was comfy. My kids LOVE the pool area. It’s not too busy on weekdays, but on the weekends it gets busier, so we rent a cabana. The cabanas are set up nicely and the prices are reasonable. Lifeguards are on duty and they do a great job of being friendly, but firm and keeping folks following the rules. There were also many on duty, so there are always eyes on the water. There are lots of food court options inside the hotel, but they are all pretty pricy and on par with what you would pay inside a Strip hotel. I was taken aback by a 12 dollar ice cream at Ben and Jerry’s and a 30 dollar meal at Fatburger (that’s for one person: burger, fries, drink). After one visit, we decided to hit up the many fast food restaurants around the area instead. The one shining star meal was at the Italian restaurant. Excellent service, reasonable prices, and delicious food. I was impressed with Pasta Cucina and didn’t feel they overcharged at all compared to the fast food locations on the property. The casino is designed beautifully. I played a mix of slots and table games. Folks I came into contact with were friendly. I especially enjoyed the drinks and video poker at the central bar. All in all, a nice stay, and we’ll be back when we visit our family again!

I'm quite undecided about the hotel. My stay began with a room which smelled like cigarettes as soon as you turned the AC on. They helped me swiftly by providing me with a new room. The cigarette smell is gone. However, the wifi in this room is horrible. As I am writing this the internet page still hasn't loaded entirely yet. I was working at the pool all day with my laptop and the wifi there is better than in my room. The wifi in the other room worked perfectly as well.

The only solution they can give me is to upgrade to 'premium' wifi for 8 dollars... I think that's just a little embarrassing. Anyway, the pool is okay. There are plenty of restaurants in the hotel to enjoy and if you like gambling there is a lot to do as well I suppose.
