My little family traveled to Ipperwash for a short vacation. We decided to book with Sal to stay at Sunset Cabins. I was absolutely impressed with the level of cleanliness inside our room. Any required kitchen appliance was there in our little kitchen. We absolutely adored our room. This is owed to the cleaner. She was the sweetest most delightful and helpful woman. I inspect cleaner's work every day for a living and can tell you... she is a gem! Never lose her! She is so detail oriented and a terrific asset to your business. We met wonderful neighbors and had an amazing stay. I cannot say how much we enjoyed our mini vacation and hope to make it back before the end of the summer!! Cpl of notes to Sal: The curb appeal is terrible. Broken awning on the main cabin blowing in the breeze. Why no roof fabric on the gazebos? Why no weed maintenance? Cigarette butts all over the lawn. Also you should warn travelers that room 2 has no cable as this can be tough with some kids. For mine it was no problem as I tired them out at the beach. This place definitely needs some curb appeal and exterior love, but inside....stunning. I would recommend in a second..... in fact I already did and they booked in next weekend!

We stayed for a couple of nights and the stay was great! It was like a home away from home with the kichtenette and barbecues allowing us to enjoy a meal at the motel on our own or at the Chip Wagon. The chicken and fries were delish and the prices were reasonable! The new owners Darren and Cheryl Abernathy were great hostesses and shared information about the area and very helpful. Your typical run-down motel with an absentee landlord. Broken AC, moldy rooms, holes in the window screens, sand and hair from the last guest, terrible communication with management. Only redeeming feature is that it's close to the beach.

Such a bad place. I found this place on a different site. If I had read more reviews I would not have booked this motel. The place isn't clean and had mouse droppings. So many more reasons, as to why you shouldn't book this place. If you are reading this review you have been warned. It is a shame I can't post photos on this. Sal is such a untrustworthy person too. he is more concerned about defending himself then being a good host

The new owners at Ipperwash turned out to be a lovely couple who went out of their way to accommodate us. Nice spot, great beach and great people.. what more can you ask for. We'll be back later this summer.

We returned to the Ipperwash Beach Motel this weekend as our first get-a-way to start the summer of 2015. We discovered the motel had new owners, Cheryl and Darren Abernethy. These folks were warm, friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean with pretty décor, a fully equipped galley kitchen, renovated bathroom - it was very cozy and extremely welcoming.
Outside each room there is a seating area with a designated fire-pit area. The owner was quite helpful in helping us start the fire. Some of the other guests joined the campfire and marshmallows roasting.
The owners also operate the Food Truck attached to the front of the Motel. The menu consists of beach food: Fresh Cut Fries, Poutine, hamburgers, hotdogs, pogos, onion rings etc. They usually run a Friday Dinner Special of Perch & Chips. Oh, did I mention… the Poutine is outstanding. YUM!
The Ipperwash Beach Motel is "a cozy little hidden gem!" It's quaint and quiet, a very relaxing weekend away. It’s a short stroll to the beautiful beach where the sunsets are amazing. I would recommend staying here.

I stayed here for a night when I made a visit to a nearby organization for business. It was cozy and sweet; I would stay here again.
The walk from the hotel to the beach is lovely! The owner of the hotel was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. There is a chip stand near by that had AMAZING fries.

We have been coming here for years and love it but the rooms were always a bit dated. The new owners {who are awesome} have renovated and wow, nice job. Very clean and fresh. This is the perfect place to park the car and just enjoy the beach for a few days, no need to go anywhere else.The chip wagon is great for lunch and dinner. No cooking, no driving, no worries! Luv it!

Ipperwash Beach Motel is steps away from the beach. The rooms are very basic, the bathrooms I have no doubt are better in prison (stand up only shower). The TV could use some more channels, but there is hi-speed internet.
The rates are good, you're close to Grand Bend if you want to head to the huge crowds if the awesome sparsely populated beach is no fun for you. There are multiple bbqs just outside the room for you to use, the Motel has a chipwagon up front that has consistently had great fish and chips. There's an LCBO two minutes up the road.
The motel just sold in the past few weeks, I hope the new owners don't screw it all up.
